that concept did not become solidified until the Wash DC v Heller decision, by a conservative court.

A right wing SCOTUS interpretation gave you that right, and none other.

A liberal court could revert it back to it's original intent.

It sure as hell could, some day in the future.

I obviously support the second amendment. Does that mean that I believe everyone who happens to fall within a particular category should be allowed to have a weapon? There are probably thousands of sub categories we could argue about and I am not going to do it.

Uh ok sorta. Mexico does have that in the constitution, but it seems that it's meant that you can only have one in the home, and there being one gun store in the country and the amount of paperwork required means that this "right" like most in third world constitutions, is useless.

Although Guatamala's right isn't as restrictive as Mexico, it's still fairly restrictive.

So what point are you trying to make with this? What conclusion are we to draw from you pointing out that these three countries have some sort of constitutional right to bear arms?

Lefties generally are not radical (especially when they retain the pragmatism of 20thC Leftism), PROGRESSIVES are radical.

Progressives are not 'Leftists', they just happen to have attached themselves to the Left for convenience. They were attached to the Right late last century, because that was the party for rich white folk. Obviously that's reversed now, so they just go where the landing is softest.

Having said that - I don't think Progressives are radical in the old school sense. I think they're just White ****ing Supremacists and ardent Capitalists, who'll say anything to preserve their position as moral guardians and controllers of the peasantry. Most are about as ready for revolution as your Grandmother. If it interferes with their cushy Capitalist Democracy lifestyle in any way, they won't do it.

 

I was starting to disagree with your comment and then found myself in a pickle of thinking you might have a great point. The weird thing about "leftist" progressives is that in the current year they've totally abandoned class struggle and smashing capitalism. I mean, they say they want to smash capitalism (or at least they text it on their Iphones) but it seems like they are pretty comfortable with capitalism, as long as the capitalists tow the line, which currently they've agreed to do.

Apparently there are plenty of people in America who are going around shooting people. I would rather not live in a society that glorifies deadly weapons and gore they create. It isn’t just that the Left is not radical, but it is more civilized than the right. After all, over the past few centuries years or so, it has been those on the Left who have dragged conservatives, kicking and screaming, into modernity.

 

The real problem is that the Conservadome has been so awash in false narratives, for so long, most of their citizens have become unable to relate to the outside society in any meaningful way.
