This week, more than 100 Republicans, including some former elected officials, signed a letter threatening to form a new political party if the GOP continues to embrace Donald Trump. Former Trump Homeland Security official Miles Taylor, who is spearheading the movement known as The Republican Political Alliance for Integrity and Reform, spoke to NBC’s Joshua Johnson about the organization's goal.

Great interview! Perhaps we will see a third party emerge yet, depending on how well this pressure campaign to squeeze the Trump insanity out of the sick GQP works.

Fake news. There is no “movement”, just a few people pretending like they are one.

Trump isn’t in jail, he isnt’ going to jail, and started something that will last a generation. He isn’t going away, and it brings me joy to know that bothers some of the more emotional left among us.

And remember folks, Trump outperformed Obama and is WAY outperforming Biden thus far. The guy you hate, is proving better than anyone you have voted for lol.

Seriously, you'd think by now they would've gotten over it. But they can't get over it because what Trump did in four years is reveal the corruption of the political system, which they tried to blame on him but there's a problem: He's gone now and it's as corrupt(if not more corrupt) than ever before.

So yes, what the 2016 movement represented which was a war against political corruption, will remain aflame in the hearts of the people who will be ever more skeptical of corporate Washington. Whether they like it or not, Washington will never be the same even with Trump no longer in office.

Exactly, Trump exposed the media and the corruption of the federal govt to a degree that even dems often have to recognize, though they usually do either begrudgingly or with a “its Trumps fault” caveat. It wont be long before their emotions simmer down and more and more of the more moderate left move to the right in response to seeing the political corruption. It will take time but it will most certainly happen. And Trumps actions play a big part of that.

It’s astounding that so many on the left believe themselves to be the resistance, fighting against imaginary boogeymen like white supremacy, fighting against corporations...with the help and support of corporations lol.

Though I’ll give it to them, dem leadership is clever. They know how to support a narrative and pivot on a dime when finding out that narrative isn’t popular anymore. For instance, defunding the police and then switch on a dime and pretend they never wanted to defend the police and instead it was just a chant that actually was calling for reform. Anyone with critical thinking knows that isn’t true but nonetheless dems convinced many of that. And with the media never holding their feet to the fire, they usually successfully pretend they never really supported it in the first place.

They do this with a lot of narratives. They push it hard then pivot so quickly most of their supporters who arent paying attention dont even realize their party was pushing for something so stupid. This makes them a force to be reckoned with, but I think little by little people are seeing the left for the nonsense they push. Though the question is, will they pivot and distance themselves from the far left terrorist groups like Blm and antifa in time? If they do, then they may just retain power for the long haul.

But ultimately, I think people will see through it.

Why do you say that it's more corrupt now? What has happened to make you draw that conclusion?

The hyperinflation, for one thing. The pet projects in the infrastructure bill, which serve to do nothing but pay off their respective interests, etc. The removal of the pipeline arrangement which was just stupid, same thing with the border crisis. If we don't want to call it corrupt, we can call it grossly incompetent.

Trump has exposed the corruption in Washington, but oddly enough, not a single member of the Deep State has been sent to prison.

    Unlike many of Trump's associates...

Yea no democrat or any democrat associate has been charged with anything lol. Not once in recent years hahaha.

Anyways, he most certainly exposed it but that doesnt’ necessarily mean the power structures are in place yet to fight it, and they wont be in until enough people wake up and recognize it. Which is a difficult feat given the reality that so many are so easily swayed by the MSM and the MSM actively and openly support the DNC. A perfect example is when Adam Schiff stated he had “direct and non circumstantial” evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. Turns out there was literally zero non circumstantial evidence that Trump colluded with russia and Adam never once came forward with anything. And yet the media did not at all confront him on this nor hold his or Nancy’s, or any dems feet to the fire over the lies they spread.

For instance, you and many on here have demonstrated such loyalty to the narrative that even after multiple videos have demonstrated CNN employees, high level employees and anchors actively and eagerly lying to their audience, yall deflect and ignore.

That type of social engineering is not easily undone. But Trump played a significant part in waking people up.

For instance the Biden administration not taking a stronger issue with hackers attacking our infrastructure and instead referring to it as a private issue.

As AN said, it could be called incompetent, but corrupt is just as likely.

The die hard Trumpers remain. The all important traditional Republicans and independents are abandoning ship as fast as they can. After the relentless attacking of the election process, culminating with the sacking of the Capitol Jan. 6, only the most ardent supporters remain. The all important middle of the road voters want no part of the psychotic Trump sheit show. Trump lost the Presidency, lost the House, lost the Senate, and even managed to flip perennial red State Georgia blue. Trump is cancer for what’s left of the Republican Party. The writing on the wall is obvious to anyone that can read.

Again, this is just wishful thinking. Trumps base is just as large and active as its always been, the Republican Party is just as unified, or broken depending on perspective, as its always been. Nothing has changed.

The overly emotional are just looking to placate their hate of a man they have been socially engineered to hate. He lives rent free in so many heads lol.

It is so darn cute how you think there was no political corruption in the Trump admin!

What I would not give to be this blindly naïve... life has to be so much easier for you folks

They are scared of his rabid base. His base is not large enough to win a national election, but it is large enough to cause people issues in the primaries.

Can you give some examples of the previous administration taking this "strong" stance you speak of?

Maybe you can give a good example from the Solar Winds hack

I frankly doubt that this initiative will get somewhere. Most probably it will fizzle and no third party will be created. Most probably the elected Republicans will continue to fear Trump due to the risk of being "primaried" and nothing will change. See my signature line.

He hit a nerve that many in the hardcore base always dreamed would be hit. Hard on immigration, and very pro white male. He has a hold on a certain percent of older, white men, mostly rural and blue collar. As a white male, I can see why does well with that demographic. The fatal two flaws are , the shift in the countries demographics. Even bigger is as I mentioned earlier is only the supporters that would still vote for him even if he shot someone still remain. Most of the country, especially after witnessing how he responded after losing the election would vote for practically anyone else.

We got a preview of how many Americans viewed post election Trump in red State Georgia, where Trumps constant lies and whining caused the republicans to lose two , thought to be impossible to lose Senate seats. Again, for the delusional Trumpers, America will put up with almost anything not to deal with the psychotic idiot ever again

Trump left office with the WORST GDP average of any modern President (0.4%).
Trump left office with higher unemployment than when he entered office and unemployment is now lower under Biden.
Trump added more the National Debt in 4 years than Obama did in 8 years ($8.6 trillion for Obama, $8.8 trillion for Trump).

You absolutely must not change anything you are thinking right now.

    No self-criticism, no self-awareness. Nothing.

But be prepared for a country run by Democrats for a long, long time to come.

I can certainly see your point. I generally try NOT to think of things as bad/good or right/wrong because there are very few things that are ALL one way or the other.

With that said, I believe it's wrong for (some) white men to be prejudiced against other races and women. Women were the only reason the country's workplace stayed functioning when the men were sent to war. Some enjoyed it and didn't want to go back to being just housewives when the war ended which lead to the big shift in industry. Also, we have recruited some very talented and skilled labor via work visas. We also have witnessed what happens to our grocery bills when we don't have enough migrant farmers. So, why is it okay to hate and reject these people because of their race or gender but benefit from the positive things they contribute to our country and lives? It's sort of like having contempt for the hooker as you throw some money at her for services rendered.

I've stated in other threads that I am just floored at how Trump acted between Election Day and Inauguration Day (actually, it is still ongoing). Had I been a supporter, I would have jumped ship at this behavior alone. Nobody likes to lose (we're all hardwired to want the gold) but I know little kids that can shake their winning opponent's hand after a lost Spelling Bee or a lost game. Trump is not only narcissistic. He's evil.

I have tried to be understanding (I am generally that way) but I simply don't understand how ANYBODY that claims to love America can still hitch their wagon to anything dealing with Trump. Those two ideas have NO subsection.
