It was a very good interview (begins just before 4 minutes in), but Miles Taylor, co-organizer of the movement, makes it clear that starting a new party is not their primary goal, which he calls the, "Mount Everest of political objectives." Rather, their main focus is an attempt to reform the GOP, or at least give support to a, "not crazy coalition."

Of course you’re right MJ, but it’s more than just one pathological idiot that lost in November, it’s a whole way of life for many people. It’s alway a been a white mans country, Trump emphasized it in a very prominent and at times ugly way. Many of his followers, especially white men are not happy about their power being diminished by a changing demographic and changing world.

Trump did two things well. He rallied his base and many others to support him. The only problem is he did the second thing better, which was rallying everyone else to vote against him. As long as republicans bow to Trump, Biden is in a great position. He can get away with a lot. For most Americans anything is better than the drama and chaos that Trump put the country through. The country, as a whole will not go anywhere near Trump again.

Politicians care for the next election. Statesmen care for the next generation. Politicians and diapers should be changed often, and for the same reason.

I've said it before but I'll repeat it. I cannot deny his swag. He's a billionaire that got non-billionaires to send him money.

You say it a lot nicer than I say it. I say he is a liberal Northern yankee perpetual sinner, who got mostly the evangelical rural south to support him. People, who he normally probably wouldn’t even piss on if they were on fire. A con mans con man.

    Yep. Stern said it too...

“The oddity in all of this is the people Trump despises most, love him the most,” said Stern on Tuesday. “The people who are voting for Trump, for the most part … He wouldn’t even let them in a f*cking hotel. He’d be disgusted by them. Go to Mar-a-Lago, see if there’s any people who look like you. I’m talking to you in the audience.”

More vocal and open now, but not new. There has been a strong anti-Trump attitude in the GOP since 2015.

Trump was horrendously corrupt. His supporters only pretend to care about corruption, yet they cheer and clap at his corruption. He literally tried to steal the election. Literally. It was never about "fighting corruption." It was about holding onto power through any means, no matter how corrupt, particularly through bat **** insane conspiracy vomit. And he still has sway over the party. I'm glad there is a movement within the GOP (hopefully a growing one) that is trying to encourage the party to accept facts and reject insanity.

As described by a Republican. That he did so in an MSNBC interview is immaterial.

Yes, as described by a Republican never-Trumper in a PMSNBC interview. Does not get anymore immaterial than that :roflol:

If a "whacko" had the ability of self-reflecting, they wouldn't be a whacko.

"never-Trumper" is an epithet for principled Republicans with integrity and the spine to stand up against Trump's authoritarian, anti-democratic and criminal lies and actions.

It sounds silly to start a movement against an EX president. I was thinking of starting an anti George Bush movement, who's with me?

It's unprecedented to have an ex-president wield so much power and influence over a party, but Trump does because he has this massive cult of personality, and he is most responsible for this ongoing assault on our democracy by the swamp of slimy RINOs who voted to overturn the 2020 election based on his caustic, baseless lies.

He is no longer a politician so none of the above matters. You guys need to stop thinking about Donald Trump 24/7.

And it sounds silly to think an EX will run again for the same office he was kicked out of, but here we are with a party operating under that very belief.

Why are they operating under that belief? Because you said so? Because a FEW GOP politicians are still up Trump's butt? Its more fake news from the left. You guys WANT everyone to believe this many people worship Trump but its basically all lies. Keep drinking that kool-aid, try no to get a stomach ache. Drink slowly.
