Citizens should be able to own all bearable arms in common use for lawful purposes. They should definitely be able to own any weapon that the government is willing to use against the citizens.
Not a serious question. You may as well ask if Americans have a right to be granted three wishes from a Djinn or own a Magic Carpet. Agreed.
How's it not a serious question? You don't believe what you posted? It's absolutely serious. Our gov't own nuclear weapons, and you said we all should have what the gov't has.
You need to reread the question as you're merely posting data regarding gun ownership. The question didn't ask what percent do own a gun. The question asked how many guns SHOULD a normal person have.....thus the question is asking for nothing more than a person's opinion.
I own a lot of guns.I won’t go into how many but I have guns worth only a few hundred dollars up to tens of thousands. I hate the communistic idea that people feel that you only need what they say you need. There are many reason to own multiple guns. My wife owns more shoes than your average liberal can count but that’s her choice. She also has a purpose or occasion for each of them. I really don’t care just like she don’t care about my gun collection.
Every drive down a 2 lane road where the posted speed is 65 mph. Why doesn't that person swerve to kill you? I have no problem with private ownership of nukes by law-abiding citizens.
The state shouldn't own nuclear weapons. No one should. They cannot be used in a manner that does not harm innocent people and their property.
I see. So if your neighbor acquired a nuke and said "This is just in case the government or some other person attacks me", would you not feel that your life, your property, and the lives of anyone living with you would be at an imminent threat? You would never know when your neighbor might, in "self-defense" pull the trigger in reaction to a threat, thus wiping you off the Earth. A nuke is not a weapon of self-defense. It is a weapon of mass destruction and cannot be safely owned by anyone without being a threat to everyone. Maybe, when we are able to own asteroids and planets, a person can keep one safely.
Because he is a criminal and believes that he has the right to destroy anyone who gets in his way. Anyone else is just collateral damage, if they aren't collaborators or supporters of those who seek to undermine his regime.
So if "a criminal and believes that he has the right to destroy anyone who gets in his way" can responsibly not use nukes, what makes you think a law abiding private citizen can't?
