Lying on a resume is the topic, lying about personal history is the topic and you are all over this guy about it so what about Biden who has DECADES of lying about his under his belt and you guys voted for him.

Just asking to hear your desperate justification.

Oh Bill Clinton beat him to that pedestal and the left reelected him and still treat him as a hero.

You've got to hand it to Bill. I think he started the movement of redefining the meaning of words.

“That depends on what your definition of 'is' is.” ― Bill Clinton

Santos's lies are the topic. But thank you for admitting you are unwilling to discuss the topic. By the way, if you had bothered to read my posts, you'd know I'm hardly "all over this guy." I'm about to be, but I was only minor-league critical of his lies before. Thanks for providing your desperate justification for running and hiding from the topic.

George Santos Is the Low-Rent Con Artist the Modern GOP Deserves

He’s the low-rent con artist everyone’s talking about, and for Republicans, he’s the one we deserve.

I refer, of course, to George Santos, the Republican congressman-elect who recently was forced to admit to “embellishing” facts on his resume, including (but not limited to) his ancestry (he claimed to be Jewish…then later, “Jew-ish”), his job history (he claimed that he “worked directly" for Goldman Sachs), and his education (he claimed to have graduated from Baruch College and New York University).

Others have pointed out similarities to the 1999 movie, The Talented Mr. Ripley, in which Tom Ripley (played by Matt Damon) assumes a false identity abroad. The film was set in 1958, long before Google made sussing out imposters dramatically easier. It’s worth contemplating why Santos got away with his ruse for so long.

Congressman-Elect George Santos Admits to Astounding Series of Lies

One theory is that we wanted to believe in him. As a buddy of mine observed, “A Republican pretending to be openly gay and Jewish is, in a weird way, a sign of progress.”

In all fairness, we don’t know if he pretended to be gay; we do know he was married to a woman until September 2019. Still, my friend has a point about the new trend of posing as a member of a marginalized or victimized group. In a world where progressives have adopted identities such as Native American or Black to advance professionally, a Republican politician posing as a gay Jewish Latino is simply a lagging indicator.

As usual, Donald Trump explains much of this. Santos’ victory represents a Republican Party that is simultaneously more diverse and welcoming (in terms of race and sexual identity) and less devoutly religious and moral—while also being more accepting of corruption and lying.

Santos will be sworn in, no ethics investigation to follow and even if this NY prosecutor found something to indict him on he would remain in office and wouldn't even consider resigning.

    Remember these 2?

    Republican Rep. Chris Collins
    Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter

'New York prosecutor looking into Rep.-elect George Santos, citing 'fabrications and inconsistencies'
    Source: NBC News

George Santos, the congressman-elect from New York who's admitted to "embellishing" his resume, is being investigated by a New York prosecutor.

"The numerous fabrications and inconsistencies associated with Congressman-Elect Santos are nothing short of stunning. The residents of Nassau County and other parts of the third district must have an honest and accountable representative in Congress," Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly said in a statement regarding her fellow Republican on Wednesday. "No one is above the law and if a crime was committed in this county, we will prosecute it.”

Santos was the subject of a bombshell investigation published by the New York Times earlier this month that found much of Santos’ background appeared manufactured, including claims that he had worked for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup and had graduated from Baruch College.

The story also raised questions about how he was able to lend his campaign $700,000 after claiming on a campaign finance form in 2020 that he was making $55,000 per year.

Thankfully the "Scammer in Chief" was convicted of fraud and settled the class-action suit for 25 million.

Santos doing the "gay" and "Jewish" routine sounds like Milo's playbook.

I'm trying to be generous on those claims. I do think it is absolutely stupid for people to claim that, just because he had a wife before, he must not be gay. However, seems like he's lied about everything else, so I don't blame anyone for being skeptical. I also don't think him being Catholic has anything to do with the Jewish thing. He was clearly referring to his ethnic heritage and not his religion. However, I'm hearing now that his supposedly Nazi-escaping grandparents were actually Brazilian. We'll see. Being generous to him before has already bitten me in the ass.

There's just too much found out about his claims to believe anything he says at this point.
I had read that there was info published about his so-called false claims before the election and they were ignored and got nowhere with main stream media.

Tulsi just did her Fox thingy interviewing him and ripped him to shreds and his responses were quite telling, he had a ridiculous answer for everything and it was amazing watching just how easily they rolled off his tongue.

Brings a seasoned pathological liar to mind.

No credit for Tulsi though since she endorsed some reprehensible Republican candidates for the 2022 election.

Cool, so in this thread about Santos you are willing to discuss Clinton and Biden . . . but not Santos. Glad we cleared that up. Will you notify us when you are willing to discuss Santos in the thread about Santos?

They existed so they knew about them. You said they couldn’t imagine them. Well that’s wrong:

    Puckle Gun(1718) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puckle_gun

    Kalthoff repeater(1630) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalthoff_repeater

    Cookson repeater(prior to 1690)

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookson_repeater

Now you know, they absolutely could have imagined them as they already existed for(in one case) over a century before the FF started our country). All pre-existed the constitution.

But now that you moved the goalposts from they couldn’t imagine to idk what with your comment about the civil war which has ZERO bearing on whether the FF could have imagined semi and fully automatic weapons.

The new, young crop of Republicans have learned well from Mr. Newton Gingrich and Mr. Donald Trump.

We may well find more interesting revelations in the coming weeks. There's no lack of federal legislators to investigate.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

It's exhausting reading it all, I don't know how Santo's could ever keep track of his alternate universe.

    It's scary:

    Hi, Izzy.

As I discover more and more about my fellow Americans, I'm concerned about the future of democracy in the United States of America. The percent of us who are willing at accept an authoritarian leader is surprisingly large. The percent who are undeterred at the voting booth by the personal lack of morals and/or ethics of some of the candidates for public office is also a worry.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

BREAKING: George Santos is now under FEDERAL criminal investigation by prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York for his finances. @CNN reporting. We know from earlier reporting he funded his campaign with $700K from his own corporation - which is illegal.

Meh, Democrats are pretty quiet about Joe Biden too, and he regularly makes up personal stories that are known to be false. Even when called out on them, he'll just double down and keep telling lies. Democrats don't care about liars, they only care about playing gotcha games with Republicans.

I find it hilarious that Trump supporters would even bring up the subject of lying while they conveniently ignore the historic running tab on Trump.

Be it the WaPo or CNN's Daniel Dale fact checking, they correct his lie/misleading claim under the doozie.

99.99% of what Biden gets wrong are benign unimportant items.... I wish he'd shut up myself, but I don't sense any malice or attempt at personal gain in any of the stupid **** he says.

    Do I like it? No...

Would I call him a serial liar like Mango? No...

You don't sense any ulterior motive in him lying about self-aggrandizing things to voters? Really?

Biden's lying is wide-ranging. Certainly some of the stories he makes up are trivial, but he also lies about really big and significant things. For just one example, Biden famously claimed "our economy had zero percent inflation in the month of July" when it was, in reality, an atrocious 8%. Can you see that he did that for personal / political gain? Or do you consider that a "benign unimportant" item?
