I can't stand creeps like this, he's a Republican but Damn! he should resign for being such a habitual liar during his campaign, because he deceived the voters in what he was. Democrats are demanding that he resign, but I'm curious if they are demanding that members of their own party who do EXACTLY the same thing also resign when they win an election and are then found to have lied about their past credentials. In Washington State a Democrat named Clyde Shavers won the the seat for the Representative of the 10th Legislative District, but as far as I've heard, Democrats have been silent about him resigning for lying about his military experience. Republican George Santo's comes across as a major league Creepo! to me and I think he should be thrown out of office and put in prison, but I also look at Clyde Shavers as a Democratic Creepo! that should also be arrested for his stolen valor and thrown in Prison for deceiving and lying to the voters who elected him based on his credentials.

Democrats have "been silent" about this other guy because NOBODY living outside of Washington State had ever heard his name since it's not a National seat.

But if it sets your toes atickle, I denounce anybody who tells obvious lies on their election resumes and neither person should be seated in their respective chambers. However I suspect only one could face any real opposition by his own party. Also, neither man should be put in prison.... that's a reach, don't ya think?

(There - It really wasn't as hard as you thought it would be)

I fully expect Santos to be seated, and serve his entire term...

Actually! I don't think it's a reach to send both these guys to prison, because it would teach politicians that if you lie to and deceive the voters about your past and actually get elected, you'll be prosecuted for fraud, just like Samuel Bankman Fried is going to have happen to him. People foolishly spend a lot of money and time trying to get candidates elected and when they are caught blantantly defrauding the public after they win, they should be immediately thrown out of office and prosecuted. I look at prison time as a deterrent to bad behavior, so this kind of stuff doesn't happen in the future, a lesson that would prevent this and other crimes from happening.

What would your post look like if you stayed on topic instead of relying on whataboutism alone? Just curious.

Come on, there are countless threads on this site that morph into Trump topics from Biden topics, does your outrage carry on to them.

Donald Trump lowered the bar so far in terms of honesty and ethics in politics that just about anything goes now, he certainly modeled how one can lie and profit off of lying

I'll need to look into some of the claims. The one where he said that he worked for certain banks when in fact he had only worked with them doesn't concern me that much. It would be enough to get me fired if I pulled that on my resume and was caught, though. If he's lying about his family being Holocaust survivors, I'm not going to let that go without a public and prolonged apology.

Why are you trying to run away from your own topic? Weird. I'm not going to fall for it, though. I'm tired of RWers baiting me into off-topic stuff and then reporting my responses and getting them deleted for going along with the off-topic **** that they started. This thread is about Santos. I'm sticking to that here. You want to talk about someone else? Start a thread for it. I'm not falling for this bull **** anymore. What would you like to discuss regarding Santos and your topic?

Thread was a "bait and switch" from the get go.... He WANTED to talk about the Washington State Rep and figured Santos was the best way to get him there in Current Events...

I saw your other post... I gotta think lying about employment and education is worse than lying about connections to the Holocaust to the typical voter (in 2022), although either could be a reason for refusal to seat.

Once again, in this day and age, with so much info being internet searchable:
It is Mind-Boggling that these "discrepancies" weren't discovered (and publicized) by Oppo Research-- BEFORE the Election...

Two party politics is giving too much cover for a severe lack of moral standards ... all that matters is getting that extra vote in Congress.

Time to stop voting party and vote for the individual candidates.

I hate stolen valor. I called a man out on it directly the other night. He was roughly 65 years old and he was wearing a Pearl harbor veterans hat.

I looked him dead in his eye and told him there might be a handful of Pearl harbor veterans still alive but there's certainly none of them around here.

Any surviving Pearl harbor veteran would have to be probably at least 95 years old to have been military age on December 7th 1941

While I think this logic is sound, in general, for the next cycle, 2024, I "trust" the dems to govern the next cycle than the Trump Rs. Too many Trump Despot wannabees right now to lift the foot of the gas after Jan 6th.

At this stage, I find anybody WILLING to associate themselves with the R party (vs running independent) is of suspect moral character with that simple action...

    The rest is easy...

Funny! I think anybody willing to associate themselves with the D party of EXACTLY the same thing with absolutely NO! moral compass. The USA has simply become a country of Cats and Dogs, where if you put 10 of each in a room, it would be total carnage and kaos. I've actually voted Democrat in the past unfortunately, but now that they have deemed law abiding, tax paying white heterosexual men that support the 2nd amendment as the enemy, I'll NEVER! vote for a Liberal again. You can take your Wokism and shove it where the sun don't shine.

While I see wanting to save children, grocery stores, and nightclubs from being shot up with weapons never dreamed of by the FF a pretty worthwhile cause... If that's "Woke", I'd recommend staying asleep...

Sorry, but semi-automatic weapons and even automatic weapons were around back then and gunsmiths were constantly trying to evolve and have better guns, ammo, etc. So I guess what I’m saying is, they absolutely already knew about semi-automatic and automatic firearms when the constitution was written. Good for you though, assigning thoughts to long dead people that can be easily described as inaccurate.

Since you’ve assigned thoughts to them, I figure why not me too:

The FF would be against one party’s incessant need to strangle and decapitate the 2nd amendment, and would have loved to have had the firearms we have today for themselves.

Yeah, I agree with the first word of that, but little else...

We're actually watching Gettysburg this very second (for some unknown reason) and they're still mostly loading muskets at Little Round Top.... 80 years after all your automatic weapons were around...

Responsible law abiding gun owners arn't shooting up grocery stores and nightclubs, it's illegal gun carrying criminals the Democrats in Liberal run cities that are responsible for these shootings, because they keep releasing violent offenders and murderers back into society instead of prosecuting them fullest extent of the law and keeping them in jail for the rest of their miserable lives. That's what WOKISM! gets society and the reason Liberal led cities are the most crime ridden murdering festpools in the United States.
