Liar Rep.-elect George Santos admits fabricating key details of his bio

The obviously-biased fact-checkers announced at the start of Biden's presidency they simply weren't going to even attempt to tally up Biden's lies. That's undoubtedly helpful for Biden, but lays rather bare the political motivations of the "fact checkers".

 

No matter how common it is, or how common it becomes, we really need to stop normalizing politicians who are pathetical liars.. especially to this extent. If it’s a problem that is too common, then we need to ask ourselves if the appropriate response is to lower our standards, or to improve our standards

 

He obviously got his time frame mixed up, as the change from June to July was zero pct.

He went on to clarify

Such an obvious misstatement, not backed up by nauseous amount of repetition, is a one off.... Everybody knew what he meant..... Well, almost everybody it seems...

 

Context, such an important component of "life" and "thought".

 

For instance, when an unnamed former POTUS said the following - "We won. We won in a landslide. This was a landslide.”, it doesn't truly make sense until you add on what he said immediately afterwards

"This was a landslide. We won. We won in a landslide.”

followed by

"We won in a landslide. This was a landslide. We won.”

I don't get it we've know for YEARS Biden had lied about the same things and even continues to do so. So why the calls for this guy to step down?

That would involve a level integrity that I doubt he holds.

 

BIDEN didn't even know what he meant, and he didn't say the change, he quite clearly said there was "zero inflation", rather than "there was the same amount of inflation we had in June, which was historically awful for both months". And his follow-up "clarification", about the price of other things going down by the same amount, was itself yet another lie.

 

Voters should recall him. It's not embellishment, but an absolute lie of his credentials.

 

Now THAT's just funny... if you have zero pct inflation change from one month to the next, it's very likely that some things went up and some thing went down for a net zero...

When trying to explain basic economics to Americans, ya gotta dumb it down a little bit...

 

Once again, Biden didn't say "inflation change", he said there was "zero inflation". If inflation were running at a super-steady rate of, say 8%, and every month, with clock-work-like consistency, the rate came in at a steady 8% inflation, it would be accurate (but basically meaningless) to say that inflation changed by zero percent from last month, but it would be a bald-faced lie to claim that there was "zero inflation" which is what Biden did. Trying to alter his quote after the fact is also a dishonest look from you.

No mechanism exists to facilitate that sort of "recall"..

 

I agreed with you that his first statement was incorrect, but keep arguing with yourself....

His clarifying statements were closer to the actual monthly change, although it wasn't even zero... it was negative .6 from June to July...

You only care if opposing politicians lie and you spend vastly more time and energy calling them out for it and ignoring / downplaying / defending the lies from politicians you (wrongly) perceive as "on your side".

I also think when a politician, advisor/staff is indicted there should be mandatory resignation, which will never happen.
Also once indicated and still seated, they should be prohibited from voting.
