At the event today, Yvan Lamothe, a 59-year-old former New Hampshire state employee and small business owner, drew strong applause from the crowd when he told Gingrich that he has never taken welfare or food stamps and was offended by Gingrich’s suggestion that most African Americans do. Gingrich responded with something like the classic “some of my best friends are black” defense, noting that he has worked with people like Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell in the past

LAMOTHE: My question to you is, do think blacks represent an American problem. And if you don’t think that, when you start using blacks in general as a stepping stone or a punching bag

Gingrich went on to say that he simply wants to help more people of all ethnicities find jobs and get them off food stamps.

ThinkProgress spoke with Lamothe after the event, who was not satisfied with Gingrich’s response. “He didn’t say some black people, he just said black people. I was incensed by that,” he said. “He didn’t really really address it, he said he didn’t say it, but he’s clearly on tape saying it,” Lamothe added. “He should stop using blacks as a punching bag.

 

I was being sarcastic. Your "It's going to be a positive change to force black parents into sticking together and being responsible and positive role models for their children in order for them to get into places like Harvard and the like" is more "judged people as a collective but preach individual responsibility" bs from you.

 

I'm attacking black culture and ideology because it's garbage. And to succeed now, black people will have to abandon that failed culture and ideology and are going to be forced into adapting to a much more socially palatable and responsible cultural style borrowed from asians.

You can't just hide under the affirmative action crutch.

 

I always wondered about white people that wish to imitate Black culture. If you're going to imitate some culture other than your own try imitating a more successful culture.... Or at least a more successful part of that culture.

Such as instead of trying to imitate a ghetto thug try to imitate a successful Asian medical school graduate, or a black Harvard graduate.

Black people see themselves as a separate entity, as a state within the state. E.g. they vote for politicians who would do something for "black people", who would provide more perks and special privileges for black people. They do not vote for politicians who do something for whole society where black people can thrive. Black people declare themselves as a group. If they declare themselves as separate group, they can be judged collectively.
