In Trump's first criminal trial, set for 3/25, judge rules jury will be anonymous for safety reasons

I know there will be older threads on this but I thought there was need for a new one as this case is not only about 14 days away.

So, the Jury is to be protected and before there are wails, please note the protection order was made BY CONSENT.

Why is this case significant and what impact does it have on your democracy.

Well, at its base I guess is the notion that when you go to vote, you are entitled to know who you are voting for, and if the candidate has gone out of his way by, for example, paying hush money to prostitutes to hide his infidelity with them against his Wife, then your vote is being corrupted.

To adopt and adapt an expression used in another context, it renders your vote to be the fruit of a poisoned tree.

 

And the Democrats will do everything they can (legal, or not) to make sure Trump gets convicted.

That's not what the case is about, but it's funny that you think it is.

He won't. His believers everything he does is fair. Some people said if jurors/witnsseses get threatened, that's what witness protection is for and they can just get new identities after the trial.
