He does seem to be getting deferential treatment. Personally I think he deserves several swift kicks in the arse until he wakes up to himself but truth is the person doing the kicking would tire long before Trump realised that he is not entitled to do whatever he wants whenever he wants

I keep coming back to the point that Trump was turned down for a Casino licence in Sydney due to his “mafia connections”. His long time lawyer was Roy Cohn who was also a mob Lawyer. This sort of intimidation is nothing new for Trump

The "DOJ" refers to the United States Department of Justice.

Start at the section “Title 1 - Campaign Receipts and Expenditures”…

That doesn't explain how state campaign finance laws apply to a federal campaign.

"Because state law applies to federal elections also."

Again... we have a prosecutor who campaigned on using his official position to attack Joe Biden's opponent, after visiting the White House 2 1/2 years after his charge, in concert with 4 other prosecutors...Bragg says the payment would have affected the electoral outcome...but .... in 2016, Trump lost the State of New York by more than 20 points, a ginormous margin; disclosure would not have made a difference.

We are relying on known liar under oath Cohen...

The NY charge can only be elevated from a misdemeanor to a felony if the defendant falsified the records in an attempt to commit or conceal a second crime. Bragg alleging that Trump falsified the business records in order to commit or conceal crimes related to election fraud and tax fraud. Bragg’s has to convince the judge that he can rely on a state election law in a case dealing with a candidate for federal office.

It is stated many times... Trump will never find an impartial jury or judge in NY.... As it is unethical to not seperate duty from politics when taking oath as a judge, but we have seen repeatedly that does not seem yo be the rule followed by NY judges...

It's damn near impossible to protect people from themselves.

THAT it's an issue because the MAGA deplorable's are uncontrollable is just unbelievable, unconscionable and speaks volumes about tRaitor tRump and the people that support him.

That's AbsaByGodLutely Bullshit. That's NOT how it was worded or framed at all. :wtf:

Most New Yorker's are ashamed that their city is tied to him at all and wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. So yeah, it was a campaign promise to bring him to justice; but it had NOTHING to do with President Biden or President Biden being his opponent in the coming election.

Why are you so opposed to due process and the rule of law ?

People smarter than you are defending the Orange Stain. If it is such a slam dunk that this is an illegal proceeding , I’m sure they will raise the issue . If not, it’s really too bad that the Orange Stain committed these felonies .

Tough luck for you and his supporters .

Actually, I raise an even better objection: It clearly states that "shall govern the conduct of all elections". It clearly doesn't reflect on the campaign finance laws. Is this one of those things where they're going to use a broad criminal definition, so as to cover the offenses? Why wasn't this used in the Edwards case or other cases?

You're blaming "MAGA deplorables" for a mentally unstable young woman doing the media rounds of liberal cable news, who were happy to spread her insanity to the leftist masses?

NO! We're blaming "MAGA deplorables" for threatening violence, and sometimes executing those threats, against anyone they judge to be a threat, in anyway, to their new god, tRaitor tRump.
