If you ever want a good laugh, watch some programs about our politics. You'll be very thankful indeed that you're an American.

 

Keep in mind you are talking to a certain segment of Australia here. We're not all Green New Deal types. There is a large but completely aimless and politically disconnected cohort of good people with solid values here.

We face similar issues as you do: overwhelming control of politics by arrogant urban elites, a gradual but accelerating erosion of our rights, discrimination on the basis of race concealed under the banner of tolerance and reparations, the abdication of their duties by police and the courts, two major parties that don't really represent anyone anymore except slimy reptilian elites, irresponsible spending by both parties over successive decades which has eroded the value of our currency and stolen our hard won property, etc. Some of these issues are worse here, some are worse over there.

I mourn for what Australia used to be and once had the ability to become. Consider that almost every objection you could raise about my country has come about in the recent past, max 30 years. I imagine that you probably share these sentiments with regard to your own country?

 

Obsessing about politics is problematic. Obsessing about the politics of another country is beyond the pale.

 

If you had been observing my post history, you will have noticed I largely do not comment on the body politic, USA. I concentrate on Humpty***, the Judicial System (about which you complain loud and long) and some parts of your Constitution.
