The number is there, but it doesn't mean what you have been told it means. It would not have let 5000 into the US, - it would have let 5000 into detention facilities, where they'd have 90 days to revolve their asylum application, or be sent back.

What detention centers we have no detention centers in which to hold them and the goal is to get them all IN not deported. What about the MILLIONS already awaiting their hearings who we are already feeding and clothing and housing and giving them everything else, do these new 5000 a day get their hearings before them?

We need to STOP the border crossings, we need to CUT the number of legals we are allowing in and concentrate on processing those already in the country and deporting the 90%+ who have not claim of asylum. That was NOT in the "comprehensive" bill.

 

The border patrol union has endorsed this bill.

Its members lobbied elected Republicans to adopt it.

If so, then let’s debate other negativities that occurred under Trump’s watch, and Biden’s watch, and NO “YEAH, BUT”.

I'm so glad that I was in Texas at the time. Governor Abbott outlawed all the China Virus Tyranny (closing businesses and school, separation, and all the other oppression).

As of Aug. 23 (2020), 88,373 people who tested positive for the virus have died in Texas. DSHS counts deaths based on death certificates that list COVID-19 as the cause of death, which excludes deaths of people with COVID-19 who died of another cause.

Also you'll notice that Texas was very lax in reporting cause of death as COVID. The disease often led to deaths by other causes, and Texas made it a point to list the other as the cause of death. You'll see a number of paragraphs in the link above where Counties changed tlarge numbers of cause of deaths from COVID to other causes.

 

Everyplace I read about was introduced by governors. Just as our governor outlawed it.

Blue states often listed the China Viraus as the cause of death for everyone that died who had it... even if they were hit by a truck.
