https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/ne...-movie-opens-to-record-worst-296m/ar-AA1cLu1L Not just bad but record bad..... Not mentioned in the article, the film claims the sibling of one of the two main characters is non-binary. More losses and more bombs for Disney and Pixar which is owned by Disney.
Still... It has made over $121 Million Worldwide in just 2 weeks of release... https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl1811383041/?ref_=bo_hm_RECENT_WEEKEND_WIDGET_2
Movies at this level from Disney are costing $350-400 million to make and market. To be profitable on on the level they want as a summer blockbuster movie, they'd need to make $700 million+ worldwide. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/releasegroup/gr2226213381/?ref_=bo_ydw_table_1 Those are the types of numbers a Disney summer blockbuster should be making as an example.
The same is true of the Pixar studio. Most people have been following and wanting to watch every movie they've put out for years.
I never heard of it, but it seems to have raked in $121M, not $29.6M "With another $65.5 million at the domestic box office, “Elemental” has generated $121 million globally to date." Yes, its a kids movie, but some people are offended by just about anything.
A. every film can't be a hit. It's just unrealistic to expect that. B. Earning are growing by leaps and bounds with international release and growing box office take here in the US. Toy story started out pretty weak too and look at it now.
No one said "every film" but Pixar and Disney are known for producing animated blockbusters. Disney in particular have bought studios like Lucasfilm, Marvel, and Pixar and they didn't do it for indy documentaries. Toy Story was the first Pixar film and the public literally didn't know what sort of film and product they were getting then. It's like saying Ironman or Star Wars Episode 4 started off differently. We are talking decades later and you're trying to justify the worst performing Pixar movie ever.
"After a slow start, Elemental has now grossed over $400m at the global box office, making it one of Pixar's most successful releases"
