    I am not aware of any German political party called, the "Conservative Democratic Union." But, Germany has so damned many political parties and factions, it is possible that such a party exists, somewhere...(?).

    Anyway, this is what AKK is the leader of now: "Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer has been elected leader of Germany's ruling Christian Democrat Union (CDU) party, bringing Angela Merkel's 18 years at the helm to an end." BBC News, December 7, 2018.

    Personally, I was hoping Friedrich Merz would be taking over, but it's "AKK"... and, as you know, the CDU is currently Germany's most powerful political party. At least she isn't one of the "Green" morons... that's the last thing Germany needs right now.

    I haven't met a single person who is angry or offended, it's just a political and press thing. The easily offended are far away from normal life. Carnival is loud, the people are drunk and the niveau is bottomless.

    I think it's more a case that liberals/progressives don't have one - this from the RT link:

    "'the joke didn’t land well with some viewers, as well as LGBT advocates and left-leaning politicians. Despite the lighthearted atmosphere of the event, they described this type of comedy as “offensive.”

    I don't travel in those circles either but we can certainly see them on college campuses or before or during some speeches.
