Democrats slam Kevin McCarthy over his vow to remove them from committees

Three House Democrats swiftly pushed back at Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's threat to strip them of their committee assignments if he is elected speaker.

After Republicans narrowly won control of the House in the midterm elections, McCarthy this weekend doubled down on his pledge to remove several prominent House Democrats from their committee assignments if he becomes speaker. McCarthy said he would not allow Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota to serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell, both of California, on the House Intelligence Committee.

The quote in the subject title comes from Adam Schiff. The most vilified Dem by Repubs other than Nancy Pelosi. Presumably it's a reference to members of the Crazy like MTG who has been seething ever since she lost her committee assignment due to comments regarding the execution of Dems in Congress. Something that should have lead her to be voted out of office. But her constituents like thinly veiled death threats against Dems.

Kevin understands he must appease the Crazy to have any chance of being elected Speaker. Targeting someone like Omar fits the bill. The disingenuousness and hypocrisy of the pretense in light of things MTG has said, and irony of her pushing for the removals, is not lost on me.

Expect more shyte like this. Expect more bread and circus for the nitwits. The Crazy's lust for retribution must be satisfied.

In order to get MTG's vote, he had to guarantee that he will start a Congressional investigation into the DOJ over the 1/6 prosecutions. That should be interesting.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians in 2018 and 2019 before being elected to Congress, a CNN KFile review of hundreds of posts and comments from Greene’s Facebook page shows.

Greene, who represents Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, frequently posted far-right extremist and debunked conspiracy theories on her page, including the baseless QAnon conspiracy which casts former President Donald Trump in an imagined battle against a sinister cabal of Democrats and celebrities who abuse children.

In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the “deep state” working against Trump.

Ahead of a vote to kick her off two House committees, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday said she regrets some of the false conspiracy theories she had promoted in the past, including her expressions of support for QAnon.

“I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true and I would ask questions about them and talk about them,” Greene said, “and that is absolutely what I regret.”

The Georgia lawmaker, who has faced intense bipartisan criticism for her past comments, claimed in a speech on the House floor that she does not believe in a number of the conspiracies she had peddled before taking office. But she offered no specific apology in her latest remarks and spent a significant chunk of her speech decrying the mainstream media and “cancel culture.”

Did MTG deserve to be sanctioned?

I accept your silence as a tacit acknowledgement that your position is indefensible.........as is McCarthy's. But then that holds no interest for him. He wants to please the rabid base, eager for revenge and in that endeavor he will succeed if he gets his wish.

Those that have a different point of view are "lowest" and "common". Typical self-entitled gentry elitist snobbery.

SCHIFF THE CORRUPT LOON: The Case For Booting Adam Schiff From The House Intel Committee.

'Schiff’s days as chair of the House Intelligence Committee are marked by abuse and grotesque politicization.'

While democrats were in the majority, they escalated a conflict by doing what had never been done in the history of the Republic, the majority party stripping a minority member of committee assignment. Now the worm turns and some Dems scream.

Swallowswell (Banger of Fang) was busted screwing a Chinese spy, not a good use of recreational time for a House Intelligence Committee member, and Omar, when she isn't entering into bigamy with her brother, engages in hateful anti-semitism.

'“Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector,” McCarthy said Sunday. “Why would we ever give him a security clearance and the secrets to America?”'

    A question that answers itself.

“Adam Schiff, who had lied to the American public time and again, we will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either.”

    That's correct.

'Schiff was the Democrats’ point man on their' insurrection 'conspiracy to take down the president and undermine democracy in the form of the Russia hoax. Schiff was the original Russia hoaxer who claimed repeatedly for years to have evidence that Trump colluded with Russia.'

He is a repeat offender liar.

'Schiff responded to Trump’s exoneration by castigating House Republicans.'

'Subsequent revelations from courtrooms and the DOJ inspector general would find gross misconduct by the FBI as deep state actors themselves worked in cahoots with Russian operatives to undermine a presidential administration. The FBI even paid for Russian disinformation to frame President Trump.'

'the DOJ inspector general showed, Schiff himself had been lying about Russian collusion since the inception of the hoax. Booting Schiff from his gig as chairman of the Intelligence Committee is just the start of said accountability. Cutting his time short on the committee altogether is the bare minimum.'

Should I be surprised that some on the Left are carry water for this Insurrectionist Scum, Schiff?

LOL.. other things to do. More, crying. Whaaa Adam, AOC, the squad will be removed from their committee assignments. So sad. Maybe they shouldn't be horrible folks in the first place. What do their constituents think will happen when they send these cretins back?

The story isn't me. The story is your behavior, the naked attempt to cover for these cretins, and then, the required ad homs because, really you don't have anything else, or an argument. Do you suppose that suddenly, you're going to start attacking CBS for finding the Hunter Laptop a credible source today? Did you start a thread about it yet... The horror for you...

Translation: you're okay with Repubs abusing their authority by retaliating for the mean things those three said about Dear Leader.

Hardly. But you go ahead an try that as a marketing ploy. Abusing authority and democrats go together like peas and carrots. And now you can't stand that anyone would simply stop their antics? I think you're running out of conspiracies to foment about. And now that we have real crimes this president and his cohort have participated in, you're all terrified by what the consequences will be.
