Yes. Another McCain thread. But I’ve been seeing this idiotic question all week. And Fox News ran a story today about a commentator calling out Don Lemon for praising McCain today but not back in 2008. See link below. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainme...ing-war-hero-john-mccain-during-2008-election Just because people voted for Obama over McCain doesn’t mean that they never respected McCain or his service. Apparently this has to be spelled out for some people.
Liberals labeled McCain a warmongering baby killer in the Viet Nam era, and not until McCain came out as #nevertrump did that opinion change.
McCain demonstrated himself, over and over again, to be a fine and respectable man during the campaign. Liberals and Dems didn't align with his political views, but they didn't consider him to be 'scum'. His biggest frailty was Palin, in the eyes of the Dems...if not for her, it is likely that McCain would have received some votes from Dems.
A person can like someone while not considering right for a job. This is not too hard to figure out. I liked and respected John McCain for many reasons. Based on information available, however, I did not consider him a competent manager of large groups. Pretty simple.
Folks are too easy to manipulate. Lemon used the spectre of McCain to attack trump, nothing more. I doubt that Lemon has any real respect for the memory of McCain. What I suspect here is that Lemon simply meant to create a story from whole cloth because that's what "creative people" do. I too recall the shrill voice of the left deriding John as a war criminal, as a baby killer, as a hapless legacy incapable of his basic job in the Navy, etc... And now, suddenly, he's a "republican" voice against Trump. It's simple leverage. Lemon has said McCain "horrified" him in the past. Lest we forget....
You know FBI director Bob Mueller took out an "insurance policy" on McCain? Bob suspected McCain's campaign colluded with Russians. https://www.circa.com/story/2017/06...hat-john-mccain-doesnt-want-you-to-know-about
I know this question isn't directed at me but he served his country and suffered for it (for 5 years!).
