I've stated the same when the terms are attempted to be applied to me.

Yes many of these new words and phrases were created by "creeps" and those people often had disgusting views regarding children and sex. Myself and many others don't want to be associated with their words or thoughts.

Good point. Hey do black people sometimes refer to themselves by the n-word or call others within that community the n-word. They do. Call yourself whatever you want. Can I call them that or disrespect their wishes on that word? Not so much.

Call yourself whatever you want but don't call me cis. It's a slur. I'm a heterosexual and biological male. I'm not defined in opposition to you nor do I need to allow your words to make your worldview and your conflicts with your own sexuality and biology make sense to you or others. Plus when I've seen others on here use it, it is clearly a dismissive and insulting slur. So moderators and forum operators should be aware that when it is used against the wishes of someone, someone who doesn't want to be associated with a creepy pedophile, and by someone who just wants to use it as a slur, then it should be prevented. If it won't be prevented then two way street. I'll be happy to fight fire with fire.

If this is our standard, then all labels are slurs. There are no exceptions. "Of course you'd believe that as a leftist" happens all of the time, so now leftist is a slur and we shouldn't use it on the forum. Repeat for conservative, right winger, Trump supporter, Biden supporter, etc. etc. etc.

Not by any rational standard. I'm cisgendered, I've been called myself cisgendered, and I've never seen or heard it used as an insult in any way. The worst I've seen (and the only example given), is to suggest that cisgendered people might believe something because they don't have the same experiences as trans people . . . which isn't a slur.

 

Here's how it started. There are plenty of words which can't be used when referring to certain people because they don't like it, why does that not apply to straight normal people?

Groomer is a real word. It's not even just an outright name or slur. I want to apply it to people who may not think they fit the criteria or accept the label. So you're fine with that?

If you knew what the word cis meant and knew what the word groomer meant, you'd understand why this is a silly argument. Are you offended by the idea that your gender identity matches your biological sex? Why are you offended by that?

I'm offended by that because I do not endorse not engage in the mental illness called gender dysphoria. Many of these words have recently, as Musk noted the term was just coined in 1991, have supplemented other words.

Biological sex is a real thing. I do not and find offense the attempt to conflate and replace it with gender. I was not assigned a sex at birth. My sex is biological.

I have many gay and lesbian friends. They are not attracted to people who present as the same gender as them. They have a same sex attraction. Sex as in sex organs, not gender expression.

These things are not the same and I am more than offended. I reject the efforts made to erase sex, sex exclusive spaces, biology, sexual attraction and more.

You say the word cis because you don't want to use the words homosexual and heterosexual.

 

We'll see how it is applies. The first sentence makes sense. The second is dog ****. Why would it be a slur to say that someone's gender identity matches their biological sex?
