5 reasons why Ron DeSantis should be the GOP candidate rather than Trump?

1. Age pure and simple, he has the energy to campaign, if Trump were to win again he'd be in the Whitehouse in his 80s and we're all seeing how that is working out.

2. He can stand for 2 terms rather than just one. Statistically the incumbent president has the advantages and is more often re-elected than not. So if DeSantis can do 8 years he could make sure the Supreme Court was conservative for decades to come.

3. He's from Florida and hugely popular there. The state is the bell-weather for the nation. Trump is also popular but he's not a native Floridian

4. Lack of controversy, he lacks the various legal challenges which Trump is undergoing which might sway floating voters.

5. He's Italian-American and from reasonably humble beginnings which should help him across the board.

 

Totally agreed. Trump would bring nothing but controversy and endless investigations by the left meaning nothing will get done.
Unfortunately, this idiocy of raiding his residence has only guaranteed he will run again unless the FBI provides an affidavit, with a criminal accusation, and the document in the affidavit recovered.

But that isn't the case. Its a fishing expedition and these Federal idiots have rallied a huge portion of voters against the abuse of power we are witnessing. In breaking over 200 years of precedence all they succeeded in is making Trump a presidential martyr.

I would love to see DeSantis run. Its about time we have someone who doesn't get free coffee at McDonalds in charge of the country.

 

And he's simply a more effective political fighter than Trump, though, we will always owe Trump for showing us that Republicans can fight. It's simply a matter of will, and that Trump has in abundance. But, I'm ready for Trump to pass the torch.

“Grubby Demagogue” describes him perfectly. He MIGHT be sort of popular in Florida but I think he will turn into pure poison on the national ballot

 

He's already making political hay out of it by holding a rally with the base -- and, predictable, they cheer. I believe, however, that the moderates will see this cynical stunt for what it is and won't give him the time of the day.

 

If I am reading the mood right and if things continue on the same trajectory the mid terms will be a disaster for the GOP - this will cause either a disintegration of the party itself (and there are indicators this will happen) or it will cause a massive rethink of the underpinning strategies. Either way Trumpists per say has seen it’s day

 

I would vote for DeSantis over Trump in the republican primary.
