Hello all, I would like to introduce myself to all of you, as per the suggestion upon my registration to this Forum. I am, "The Voice" which I felt was a nice moniker for myself as I intend to speak my views upon these threads. Will my views line up and fit nicely with others? Well, I hope in some cases, that I do and in others not. Yet, I will make the promise now, to never personally attack any individual for their views. Will I attack your views? Possibly, and I implore you to do the same to my own views. As that is what good discussion is made up of. Yet I will, and I hope you will as well, make the distinction between "The Individual" and "The View". That is what I am here for, to discuss a variety of topics that encompass the entire forum. I also hope to create connections within the political sphere that encompasses this Forum, and to develop those connections into whatever they could become. Within the coming weeks, and months as I graduate from school I hope to become more active on these boards and to become involved within the community. Thank you all in advance for the time you'll spend welcoming a new soul into your community. I hope this will become a beneficial relationship for all of us. -The Voice
Welcome Voice, I know you will find a wide variety of views here; some that mirror your own and a plethora that don't. It's good to have another around that strives to treat everyone as an individual irregardless of beliefs. I hope you have a good time here.
That has to be the most pleasant introduction I have yet seen...I pray you manage to maintain the composure. WELCOME aboard.
I have a fair amount of patience, I don't think I'll compromise civility just to prove a point. But thank you, I hope to start diving in to topics after I take a look around and see what has already been discussed and where those discussions have led.
It's a pretty good forum, but a little thin-skinned once in a while. Sometimes if you post something the choir doesn't like, they'll accuse you of being a troll, or "flamebaiting." I haven't trolled or flamebaited but I believe a little of that is good to help spice up a forum. If everyone on here just preached to choir, eventually there wouldn't be anyone left but the choir.
And that is the biggest tragedy of them all, when all the combined voices are drowned out by one large voice. That isn't the way in which a Republic nor a Forum should be run.
