I found this video about climate change and found it interesting. I find it strange that infomation like this video is just ignored and dismissed by the goverment while the tell us "the science is in and the debate is over" [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4468713209160533271"]Climate Catastrophe Cancelled: What You're Not Being Told[/ame]
The alarmist crowd think that by screaming anyone that disagrees down they will win the debate on this... We need to get the message out there that AGW is a hoax..
what a pathetic video, same rehashed poo that has been dismissed for years...urban heat islands, 70's "global cooling" ...and then it pretends to be legit with it University of Calgary logo, it has no support from the U of C science departments...it's U of C link is Prof. Barry Cooper a political science prof, zero expertise in climate change ZERO his articles in the local paper are nothing short of comical... the denier world is incredibly gullible...
update on barry cooper and his friends of science...much of his funding came directly from oil producers...the University of Calgary after doing an audit of his pet project cancelled it's funding because it found that Cooper was lobbying and his Friends of Science was politically motivated... mr cooper having expensive $1000 dinners with oil executives... buying gifts for Tim Ball, Ross McKitrick, Madhav Khandekar, paying for their travel expenses, dining ...
Hope you do not mind I posted this in the Nobel Prize-Winning Physicist Resigns Over Global Warming . thread.
From the video: Oh really? Solar activity has been going down since 1960, while temps have been going up. Clark is another geologist with no climate expertise, in over his head.
Oh! Wow! Be still my beating heart! Bloody hell! IT IS A YOU TUBE PRESENTATION!! Some "science" Tim Patterson the "No It is all untrue about all the money I made from Exxon" so called "expert" http://globalwarmingwatch.blogspot.com/2006/06/canadian-climate-denial-sponsored-by.html I just love people who will dismiss multiple studies and reviews of science covering hundreds of thousands of research hours and investigation to believe some idiot with clear and obvious links to an organisation that has ADMITTED to funding denialism
Pity none of them have any science worth noting - but then why should they bother when they can trot out rubbish like "long term gravity fluctuations" and be believed
How anyone can stick their head in the sand and say global climate change is NOT for real is ludicrious and borderline delusional ... My God , the polar glaciers are melting , raising the sea-level all over the world , our Planet the ice caps are shrinking , and that's a whole lot of ice to melt ... you can laugh and stick your head in the sand ,,, but when the polar bears start drowning because they ain't no ice floe to rest on , , , and that's never happened before in some 2 million years and we've had record storms all over the World the last 3 years ,,, heat waves and drought ,,, floods and hurricanes , , tremendous fires covering vast expanses ,,, then I for one am re-evaluating my survival strategedy of an up-coming natural catostrophe .... Now , I'm not trying to change anyones mind , you believe what you want to believe , and that's fine by me ... but a word to the wise will see you buying a few cans of pinto beans & run & store a few gallons of water & a few other things. . because as stout as I am ( or as stout as I once was ) I'm not near as strong as a polar bear ,,, and if something is happening that's killing them off , then what chance do I , or YOU , , , have against it ? ? ? Remember Silent Spring by Rachael Carson ? ? Same thing . heads in the sand ... only this time , it might be us...
Hillbilly old bean - you reassure me. There is hope we will get the message across to all but the most recalcitrant The globe is warming - there are too many indicators to ignore. Even just looking at the 7.30 report tonight where they were talking of Cyclone Yasi - the most powerful cyclone ever to hit Australia and it's trail of destruction that reached over 600 kilometres inland
now even Talisman Energy who funded Friends of Science is distancing themselves from the deniers "Hydrocarbons are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions and Talisman looks for ways to leverage technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint," said the company's president and chief executive officer, John A. Manzoni, in a newly released statement. "There is no question that technological evolution will be at the heart of solving the climate issues." http://www.canada.com/technology/Un...elves+from+Friends+Science/5414844/story.html
They are doing an "Exxon" Exxon distanced itself some time back - openly, and after it was discovered. They then set about continuing to fund but made it more difficult to trace.
Bowerbird I wish that the Gov'ts of the World would wake up and get a handle on this climate situation , , , the people already have ... It seems to me that we're just gonna go on like we've always done and then one day when it's too late the Gov'ts will try and do something , but it'll most likely be too late . . I hope not , for the sake of our children & grand-kids & great grand kids .. Is this the way family photographs will look 50 years from now?
Yes and this is what some of us fear. But worst I think will be the disruption of the agriculture. People think because we get food from supermarkets and that all that has to be done in a drought is to turn on a tap. Still cannot get over the "denialist" earlier this year who told me that the floods in Queensland were all our fault for not building enough dams - still did not get it when I explained that our existing dams had been on average, below 20% capacity before the floods. Thanks to Yasi price of Bananas here went through the roof - $14 a kilo!!
Yep , Bowerbird , people that think milk & bread comes from a grocery store gonna be some supprised when they run out... Can I send ya a free bannana split ?
14 dollars a kilo is just plain outrageous. A kilo is about 2.2 pounds I think. The last bananas we bought were about 59 cents a pound. They usually run about 69 or 79 cents a pound. When it comes to your big floods I feel for you. You can not stop a flood of that magnitude any more than you can stop an F5 tornado. When mother nature gets angry there is no stopping her. I have been buying livestock in order to prepare for what is coming. The food chain in the U.S. is more fragile than people would like to think. And food here will soon go through the roof. But the real reason I am posting is to brag about my two new heifer cows. I got them cheap...and they are so pretty. I paid four hundred for both of them....and the price of feeder cattle went up about 2 cents a pound over the weekend.
And with the ranchers in Texas butchering their cattle because of the drought, the price of beef is going to drop and then next year go through the roof! I know the deniers will never get it but when are the skeptics going to realize how expensive CC will get?
I thought the cattle prices would drop too, but actually they have held pretty well. The prices usually drop in the fall because farmers and ranchers like to sell off livestock to keep from feeding them through the winter. But this year cattle prices (here anyway) are high. The price will skyrocket when the Texas ranchers have to restock their herds. And they will hold on as long as they have grass in order to rebuild the herds they lost. It will affect cattle prices for years. For goodness sake...we now have a pumpkin shortage...of all things. I got a real good deal on my two cows...I have had my eye on them for a couple of weeks...Bought them at a flea market/livestock sale. Got them just in time.
