I found this story while searching through some paperwork. Of course it is up to you whether you believe it or not. An un-named man was being attacked by another person with a knife. The un-named man in the ensuing scuffle somehow found the knife in his hand and was plunged into the attacker's chest. Of course by now the police had turned up and arrested the un-named man and the attacker was found to be dead. The un-named man tried to tell the police that he was being attacked by the person; unfortunately the police did not believe him. It finally went to court where the un-named man was convicted and sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment. What would you do if you found yourself in the un-named man's position?
While I was preparing my lengthy appeal, I would give thanx every day that the knife was in the other guy's chest. Enjoy!
Seems we'd have little time to rationalize a proper response to protecting ourselves from an attacker with deadly intent. Whether that knife would be plunged into the attacker would depend greatly on the scenario and my ability to take any other measures, and formulate even a thought of doing so, to get me out of the situation without using the knife in that manner. All I can say is if someone makes it my life or theirs, and that's the decision that has to be made in what could be only fractions of a second, I know how I will decide. For most, it's instinctive at that point and the future trial is a future concern after one saves their own life. Your example just played out very poorly for what was to be the victim of the crime by an unjust conviction.
Cut myself and put the knife in the other guy's hand if there was time. The reality is that forensic evidence can sort this sort of stuff out these days assuming you have the money for the experts.
BTW-If this happened in London, where were all the spy cams? Enjoy! - - - Updated - - - Yeah, but that's really supposed to be the responsibility of the investigating officer(s), at least it was when I was on the job. Enjoy!
Yeah we're only hearing one side of the story, character witnesses? Was the dead man the sort of person to do this? Was the survivor the type who would do this? Did the survivor have any knife wounds? I've known more than a few goons get away with assualt because it was their word against the victims, everyone knew who was more likely telling the truth but providing the proof was impossible...if the killer in the op went to prison I'd guess there was alot of evidence we're not being provided...
