“Abbott made the comments in an interview with Tucker Carlson on his new show, "Uncensored."

While a handful of Democrats have called on President Joe Biden to federalize the Texas Guard, the White House demurred Thursday when asked if it's being considered. Regardless, Abbott said he's thought it through.

"Well, first, I'd be shocked. That would be a boneheaded move on his part, a total disaster," Abbott told Carlson from India, where he's on business to boost trade and investment in Texas.

"For one, as you might imagine, we are prepared in the event that that unlikely event does occur to make sure that we will be able to continue exactly what we've been doing over the past month and that is building these barriers," Abbott said. "We will continue to do exactly what we're doing to expand our denial of illegal entry to the state of Texas."”

Way to tell it like it is Governor Abbott. This NewsMax news report regarding the situation is very interesting. The state governors and AG’s as well as the house speaker and former President #45 are right to back Texas to the max on this issue.

Shocking turn of events to see southern conservatives turn against the federal government — again — for a second time.

That conservatives are cheering for states to ignore their stacked conservative USSC isn’t shocking though.

Party of law and order (unless we don’t like the law and then we are going to ignore it)

I stand with the state of Texas, all the governors who have rallied to their side, the speaker of the house, and former President Trump and against the President on this issue. Congress should refuse to fund the nationalization of the red states national guards if bonehead does it.

It’s not just southerners. It’s every GOP governor and state AG in the nation all acting of one accord on this with our future president and the speaker of the House.

You meant to say the shocking turn of events is Biden suing a state to make it stop protecting itself by keeping known illegals out of that state.

The liberals are cheering for states to be overwhelmed with illegals and then bitch when those illegals finally get to the cities they want to go to.

Why won’t Biden do his job?

Immigration is unfortunately, constitutionally, only in the purview of the federal government.

States cannot run their own deportation system

Also, congress writes laws — not Biden. His administration has deported more in three years than trump did. And the courts struck down his EO to have asylum seekers remain in Mexico.

The question should be why isn’t congress addressing this and why are prior presidents telling congress to not address it. Maybe because they want this?

Here's the thing about those alleged deportations, Biden and the left say everyone deserves their shot at asylum, right? So with immigration hearings scheduled nearly 10 years out, why is he deporting them?

Also, if he really is deporting them and not fudging the numbers the way Obama did, then could it be there are more potential people to deport among the millions Biden let in?

Finally, with his poll numbers being as bad as they are on this subject, Biden has to do something in an election year. Unfortunately, he only seems to want to secure the border if Ukraine gets their money.

Don't you agree that if both sides really want to secure the border, then a stand alone bill should be a no brainer piece of cake?

Regarding what former presidents may or may not have said, do you have any proof other than rumors, because there were once rumors of a pee tape....and some people still believe them.

I'm glad he is prepared, but not sure exactly how he could be prepared for that.

If the President orders and mobilizes the national guard to do something, and the state prevents their national guard from following those orders, that's really entering the area of rebellion and Constitutional crisis. Even if the Presidential order seems to be unconstitutional.

I'm guessing the governor has an injunction from a federal appeals judge already ready.

    Illegal entry vs legal entry

If his goal was to just overwhelm the boarder, why would he be deporting any of them? Why would he have signed an EO to make them stay in Mexico to file for asylum?

Presidents always ramp up items that the voters want addressed in election years. That’s normal politics. It sucks but it’s been that way as long as I have been alive. So should we just do nothing unless trump wins?

I do — but one cannot let perfect stand in the way of good. I don’t care what they have to do to secure the border and end abuse of our asylum system.

Why are Democrats trying to push bills like this if they are not trying to do anything
    https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/26/politics/senate-deal-shutdown-border/index.html

Honestly would you care? If I direct quoted him saying that the bipartisan immigration reform bill brokered between Biden and McConnell would only help Biden in an election would it change your view of him? Or the numerous Republican legislators that openly admit he is lobbying them?

Because you didn’t seem to care when he said he hoped there was a recession under Biden. Or when he retweeted that the only good democrat is a dead one.

Congress can refuse to fund the president’s nationalizing takeover of Texas and offer red states national guard units. The issue is whether in an election year Biden would want to trigger a constitutional crisis by taking an action that could well lead to his killing of other Americans in order to let in more fentanyl, sex trafficked kids, MS-13 gang members, and illegal enemy aliens in general.

If Biden & Co say they want a secure border, then why the hell would they stop a state from helping him secure it?

Libs, please don't say it's the job of the fed to secure the border. If I was dying on the street, would you help, or would you say it's a doctor's job to provide medical treatment?

I for one am happy to see all the red States pissing on the Constitution and the SCOTUS ruling.

Setting this precedent will make is better for all the Blue States to disregard the SCOTUS ruling regarding keeping Mango off the ballot in Colorado, if they rule against the State.

Republicans are saying **** law and order and the SCOTUS. Can't wait for Dems to do the same and keep mango off ballots in 25 States if SCOTUS rules against Colorado.

Let's see if you feel the same after the SCOTUS ruling regarding Colorado keeping mango off the ballot. If SCOTUS rules in your favor there, and 25 States decide to go against their ruling and keep mango off their ballots, let's see if you stand with Colorado. LOL

Did you read the ruling? Neither did I. But I did watch the talk shows and people who did read the ruling said Biden has permission to cut the razor wire, but it said nothing about Texas putting it right back up again and that’s what they’re doing. So no one is pissing on anything.

Now if you want your non existent ruling enforced by Biden, then I would love to see him go n TV and announce he’s sending the military to the border to literally help the illegals enter the country. Are you up for that?

If you disagree with Abbott, then you are truly an open borders supporter.

The issue is where they are putting it. Didn’t a woman already die because of it?

If she died it was probably because she was trying to enter illegally. Lots of illegals die and get raped on their way here but the media doesn’t seem to want to cover that story.

I favor rule of law. I also favor humanity. I do not favor killing Women and Children at our borders because of an irrational fear of them.

When the Federal govt is actively fighting AGAINST their job, PROTECTING OUR BORDERS and SOVERIENGTY...its up to the states to fight against tyranny. They bigger question is why are Democrats actively DESTROYING our country? Is it just for votes? Allow in as many low IQ, low skilled, desperate 3rd worlders that will vote who for whoever gives them free stuff? That's certainly what they're doing. Selling out CITIZENS for votes. Want to talk about traitorous? They should be imprisoned. Politicians getting bribes from who knows to weaken our country? Only China and Russia have such goals. And our "friends" Arabs over in the ME.

The Biden administration has refused to its job. Biden has trashed his oath of office. Given the open border, and the false Biden claim that “The border is closed,” he should welcome Texas support rather than take the state to court.
