You don't seem to get it. Your religion, it's rules and laws have nothing whatsoever to do with how our secular country is governed. None. I don't care what your religion has to say, and neither does your state or country. It is not relevant. Nor can you use it as an excuse to not perform your duties that you are getting paid to perform. Don't like any of the above? Then you're living in the wrong place.

Which is a meaningless statement since not everyone follows your religion.

What you think is a sin is completely irrelevant to the rest of us. You have an irrelevantly thought of your own self worth.

I would say the same to people who don't understand that they live in a Christian nation where the majority of people are Christians. We also live in a country that is tolerant of people's religious beliefs. If you can't be tolerant, then perhaps you are living in the wrong place.

My religion doesn't have it's own system of laws.

It's not a Christian Nation. It's a Secular democracy with a Christian majority. There is a difference. There are no laws identifying the nation as Christian, or implying that Christian views should be the default.

I think this is why you're so upset...you've been blindsided by reality. You did not understand the real rules until now.

You really want me to answer the question of "what possible motive could you have to make Obama look bad"?

The guy is trying to sell his book by making this claim. That makes a lot more sense now.

So Obama has not really admitted anything, and your claim is hearsay from one guy...who also just happens to be trying to sell his book and needs publicity. Sounds legit.

That's just a denialists dismissive way of obfuscating the truth with symantics. We live in a predominantly Christian nation. Period. Fact.

I can't believe that you don't understand who David Axelrod is. I would expect the average low info voter not to know that, but you? Let me just say, he's like the Carl Rove to George W. Bush.

I understand he is not Obama. And that he has a motive to lie or exaggerate.

But our laws are based in Judeo-Christian traditions. See: Ten Commandments.

There is a HUGE difference between being a "Christian nation", and one that is inhabited by mostly "christians". Primarily that means you don't get to make the rules. That you don't like that is completely irrelevant.

No there's not. It's the same thing. It is an adjective + verb. We live in a Christian nation. That is a factual and truthful statement.

And yet, same sex marriage is the law of the land in all 50 states, as I predicted. A "Christian nation" would never allow such a thing. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Well the only commandment that is also a law is the sixth commandment.

So thanks for making that poster's argument for him.

    No it isn't.

But you said it was a Christian nation. So we live in a Christian dictatorship?

Actually, only 2 main laws are solidly 'based' on the 10 commandments - murder and stealing. Adultery is grounds for divorce but not criminal. 2 more are loosely based - bearing false witness (perjury) and honouring your mother and father (parental custody), but generally speaking lying and disobeying your parents aren't crimes. But believe it or not murder and stealing were crimes long before Christisnity/Judaism in the societies that preceded them.

Your comment is nothing but pure ignorance. Sour grapes from a person upset that SSM is a choice. You have no clue what a dictatorship really is then if you think the u.s. Is one. Maybe many of those on the right who are anti-American should move to Iran if they want religious laws.
