    Because the war is not over, it won't soon be over, like Obama said in his State of the Union speech.

    Sure, Obama can bring most or even all of the US troops home because he is the commander in chief but wishing the war is over it doesn't mean that the enemy, the real enemy. who sponsored Osama Bin Laden is defeated.

    On the contrary, the enemy Pakistani military has made billions of dollars of profit out of sponsoring Al Qaeda and appeasing them while limiting our action to their secret agents has simply encouraged the Pakistani military to keep sponsoring terrorism.

    The other enemy, the Saudi monarch recently had a visit from President Obama.

    So the Saudis have no pressure on them whatsoever to stop sponsoring terrorism.

    Despite what's going on with Ukraine and Russia at the moment, this is still the most dangerous security threat. Russia has more nuclear weapons than Pakistan but Pakistan thinks it has more to gain by attacking the West, hence the Pakistani nukes are more of a threat right now.
