The think tank called pnac was formed in 97. Their leaders like cheney and rummy faded into the wood works but their foreign policy and the blue print is alive in DC.

Their military space force was announced by trump and the increase in war spending is neocon policy. So was anti missile defenses close to Russia .
When your policies come from pnac you dont need specific neocons holding office. Yet there are plenty of that think tank's members still in the burocracy. They survive presidents and were present in Obama's terms as well as trump's.

Surely you know this. Right ?

What these people did to the ME was supposedly in our national interests but who determines those intetests? Big bbusiness iinterests are included in national interests whereas the best self interests of non elites are not.

Imo trump played right into the neocons when he withdrew from the nuclear agreement.

I have no doubt though that the neocons still salivate over the idea of regime change in Iran.But things have changed since we invaded and took out saddam.

What the pnac think tank laid out in their white paper is still in place but with adjustments to a changing situation. They are still seeking hegemony and higher war dept spending as they fashion a military for hegemony. It is laid out in their white paper still available online. I just waded through it again.

One can see these people affecting trump when one looks at his promises and how he seems to pivot towards their policies.

They wanted a space force and finally got one. They wanted increases in military spending and they got a big increase. Withdrawing from a missile treaty with Russia they finally got along with missile defense close to Russia supposedly to protect Europe from Iran.
