If you actually read the article, they are referring to a State Defense Force, which already exists in several states and are perfectly legal.

Didn't fly, officially. Quite telling that they wanted one though, and why. They were looking to bear arms against the United States.

 

I know I'm not one, but some folks run willy-nilly screaming racist at everything that moves. I have found in the past that those pointing fingers are often guilty of the thing they accuse others of, even more so.

 

It would have been under the control of the State government of Oklahoma. I rather doubt Oklahoma would declare war against the US with a ragtag group of middle aged Tea Partiers against the multiple military bases in the State. Of course, if it makes you feel better, keep spinning your version.

 

I know what you mean, but most people that are racist don't even think they are. Take that girl on Big Brother, Aaryn Gries, she's a pretty girl from Texas, she made comments on the air (that the whole US that watches that program could hear that were racist), yet when confronted by the other guests, she claimed that it was not racist. She doesn't know that she has been fired from her job, as well as the other guest that buddied up with her.
People are tired of those who think that they are better just because they are white. We have nothing to do with the color of our skin, and to try and act that you are better than others just because you are white is childish and ignorant. We are all Americans, and people shouldn't be demeaned because they happen to be black or because they are Asian or Hispanic, because people don't get to choose who they are.

And the State government of Oklahoma just happens to be Republican controlled by the Tea Party variety. What part do you not understand?

 

That being said, I do have my prejudices. I don't like liars, cheats, frauds, or those who demand that I must think like they do. Regardless of color, it is what a man says, and does that marks him. To call someone a racist without proof is like accusing him of being a child molester. Even if he is neither, the accusation leaves a brand that never goes away. To me, racist is the same as the "n" word. I don't like either word. It is meant to demean someone who objects to some ideology or holds a contrary view.
Since I don't watch much tv and most certainly reality programs(yack) I never saw that. Won't say it didn't happen tho....

 

Most decent people don't like liars, cheats, frauds or those who demand that everyone must think like they do. But, I think the only people that get angry when they are called racist are the ones that truly are. I just laugh when someone accuses me of such, because I know who I am, and someone accusing me of being something that I am not is actually funny. I can tell you one thing, that girl on Big Brother has been branded as racist, and there is video of her words to prove that she is. She thinks Freedom of Speech gives her the right to say what she wants, which it does, but those of us who find it offensive also have the right to consider her a bigot and not worth much, and the company she used to work for has the right to fire her for her lack of humanity, never mind, future disgrace, probably.

Yeah, that would be a dumb thing, but it's Oklahoma.

 

Well yes. They contemplated raising an armed force to defend against federal infringements, but what could that possibly have to do with war? Absurd.
