Did you see this on a YouTube video by any chance?

The viewership numbers prove you incredibly wrong

I'm afraid that I must disagree with you about the usefulness of You Tube.

I'm actually grateful for many of the generous people who have taken the time to make You Tube videos that have helped me figure out how to fix things on my car, odd stuff around the house and even reassemble an old WW 1 rifle.

I think that you should give You Tube another look.

    You might change your mind.

    Thanks,

    I don't have a TV
I watch series on the tablet
no need for a large screen
it is better to listen to dialogues and aphorisms
    do you agree

Americans watch it, and there is plenty of useful information there. I watched it recently to figure out how to make a GPS communicate with VHF radio.

Yes, I agree but some things take a little longer than five minutes like the old WW 1 rifle I was able to reassemble because of a You Tube video.

I think that it speaks well of people, in general, to see so many individuals take the time to show others how to do something.

    Enjoy your day,

Please tell us where the "useful information" is to be found then?

That answer seems to disagree with the premise in your first post.

I think what you're looking for is discretion. There's lots of stupid stuff, but also lots of useful stuff, and some entertaining stuff, on youtube. One advantage over books for me is it's easier to watch videos than read books while doing cardio. And I don't really read fiction anymore.
