How do you think employers feel about having a source of cheap labor?
It is not as if business interests that support republicans have been hurt by cheaper labor
Nor is it the case that illegal i migration has dramatically changed during the last 7 years

If you care about this issue, you should wake up and realize that the origins of this problem are not particularly partisan in nature. It has been around for a long time and no political party has effectively addressed the issue ... For what ever reasons

I get SSI due to medical. I'm not eligible for SNAP bc I make to much in SSI(which is fine) and my income. SSI and SSDI are two very different programs. SSDI is for people who generally not able to work what so ever or work very little. SSI is the direct opposite. They are no welfare.

SSI is for people who are either elderly and do not qualify for SS retirement or under 65, disabled under Title 42, and meet certain asset and income requirement.

SSDI is for people who are disabled under Title 42 and are not eligible for SS retirement. In addition, you must have 10 credits under the SS system.

    - - - Updated - - -

Social Security has three programs: retirement, disability, or supplemental insurance. SSI is means tested welfare. SSDI and SS retirement are not. SS and SSDI are paid by the SS trust fund while SSI is paid by general revenue.

Where did I say I was for bailouts? I wasn't for the 2008 bailouts and every poll at the time suggested the same. Nearly 70% of the American people were against the 2008 bailouts, yet the Democrat controlled congress run by Nancy Pelosi insisted that we do the bailout. Heck, I remember nearly every damn night, Nancy Pelosi would be at the podium saying we must and we will go through with the bailouts. Do you remember that???

ever heard of hank paulson? he's no democrat

"We're talking hundreds of billions of dollars - this needs to be big enough to make a real difference and get at the heart of the problem," he said. "This is the way we stabilize the system."

Have you ever heard of Nancy Pelosi? She's no Republican.

Why was she so adamant about going through with the 2008 bailouts????

Not at the artificially low wage rate that results from Democrats flooding our borders with illegal foreign workers they won't.

You are arguing that flooding the nation with cheap outside labor does not lower wages for US workers, I'm enjoying my popcorn, by all means, continue.

I'm enjoying my popcorn while you make your arguments. Great job recovery these last several months, if you want to serve drinks or wait tables. This flooding of the American job market with cheap foreign labor is doing wonders for the middle class and their falling wages.

Have fun explaining to them how they improperly frame their arguments as you defend this flood that is destroying wage pressure. Have you considered calling them racists?

Yes, what a "fairy tale" that when you flood the market with something, the price for it goes down, and when it is more scarce, the price goes up. Wait, except, that every American that actually lives their lives, lives with this repeatedly, in every aspect. In fact, I know of no other "exceptions" beyond the one Dems are going to try to sell this upcoming election, unless of course we elect Rubio or one of the other immigration guys on the GOP side, in which case, the argument will never really come up.

    So what?

The number of people not in the labor force regularly increases with population increase, a fact that has been and will be accelerated with boomers' retiring.

    So what?

How about the 12 million jobs created since Jan 2010, record number of months with private sector job creation, unemployment dropping form 10% to 5%?

    Thanks Obama!

I did, but as I demonstrated in that thread, that post does not show what you are claiming it does. Please it is several years old.

The government should give everyone who wants one a job, and job training, doing something. Unless too disabled to viably work.
