america's job creators want immigrants

they want them cheap and they want them illegal.

when the illegal employees become disgruntles and ask for a raise or, heaven forbid, unionize, the chicken processors want to call the border patrol, deport that lot, and bring in a new batch of illegals to take their place.

both parties love these job creators (who are political donors) and both parties deliver the undocumented employees.

what did trump do differently? if anything trump's border patrol was more responsive to the employers demands for deportation.

the wall is a joke. the only way to stop illegal immigration is to crack down on the employers. remove the economic incentives that make importing an illegal work force profitable.

 

As a country, we've gone at many issues in a very backward fashion. We went after the supply of drugs rather than focus on the demand. And it is the same with immigrant workers. As long as the demand is there, we will see continued illegal immigration. Focus on the demand, and the working illegals will disappear.

Precisely, though Trump did try to get the enforcement agencies to do something, and all but begged congress early on to put some real teeth into e verify but establishment politicians neither blue nor red were interested.

 

Even under Trump nothing happens to the companies hiring the illegals. He did not try and change that.

 

Not answering for Gary, but entire families will pool their money to pay for the coyotes to take a family member to the US, and that person will send everything that they don't actually need to survive back home to the family. This occurs for both legal and illegal immigrants.

Until you make it hurt their bottom line, nothing will change.

 

I've never noticed the owners (stockholders) ever being charged for anything their company does. That's not an issue exclusive to immigration however.

This is not new to the current era I recall immigration authorities coming into the building I worked in during the 1960's and 70's and rounding up the cleaning crew and checking them for illegals, quite often finding several that did not check out ok.The cleaning crew were part of an independent company hired to handle the buildings cleaning.

 

I don't quite understand what you mean we went after suppliers of drugs. Small time drug dealers are constantly being rounded up and the big players remain untouched.

As far as illegal immigrants, that seems like a good idea. Many of these people are shouting from the rafters in public while secretly wanting them here to exploit. Hypocrisy at its finest.
