(Announcement) New feature - Tagging another user to alert them

PF now has username tagging (in the style of Facebook and Twitter), aka "Mentions".

In a post, you can type @ followed by someone's username, and they get get alerted that you Mentioned them.

Do not put a space after the @ symbol. Spell their entire username properly.

Their username will be also automatically linked to their profile in your post.

If you already read about Quote alerts, it's the same system for Mentions, so I'll copy and paste but change the key word:

You can be notified two ways: 1) by email 2) in the "Notifications Box" (top right hand corner of the website pages). By default you will be notified in both ways. Plus, on your profile there is a new tab labelled Mentions, where you can see a list of them all.

You can optionally set your account to Friends-only alerts for Mentions. That means you get email or notification if you are Mentioned by people on your PF Friends list. And no alert for others.

Abuse of the system will lead to change in privileges or warning/infractions/bans as necessary.
