You can "Remove Like" if you accidentally hit the Like button. There is now a Like button for other areas of the site. They are: Blogs, Social Group posts, and Visitor Messages. Now you also have the option to be emailed when someone Likes your post/blog/msg. You can enable emails on this this page of your Settings. They are off by default. (On that same page, you can turn off Notifications which are the Alerts in the upper right hand corner when you're browsing PF. They are on by default.)
Hey guys. Speaking of the "Like" feature, I've just noticed that when I click on a "like" to see which post someone liked, a new tab opens up. This is no big deal on the laptop, but if I do that with my smart phone, a window pops up to inform me I can't open another tab..."like blocking" me, as it were. Clicking on a "quote" doesn't open a new tab. Is this new, and a result of these added features? am I doing something wrong? or am I crazy?
Hey PF....Ok...lets go through the complete process..... a "1" (or "2", or whatever) beside "notifications" shows up..... clicking on "notifications" drops down either a "like", a "quoted", a "reputation", or a "private message" window..... clicking on the "like" window takes me to the page with the list of "likes".... clicking on the thread title beside the member's user name that "liked" the comment takes me to the thread and the comment....but to do that, it now opens up a completely new tab....so now I have two PF tabs open. I don't remember that happening until a few days ago...maybe a week. and as I said, it's no big deal on the laptop, but my smart phone doesn't have the capacity for multiple open tabs.....and before a few days ago, I had no problem checking out which comment someone "liked" from it....now it won't let me go there.
Ok, I see what you mean. However, if it doesn't pop open a new window, and it works on your smartphone, it may be more inconvenient for other users. And the same for you (being inconvenienced) on your laptop. If someone is going down the list, clicking on each post, it's seems more convenient if each opens in a new window. If it's the same window, they have to click back and a lot of the lines look similar, so it's easy to lose their place. I will have to look at that further.
I guess it's OK if a member doesn't mind a bunch of tabs open. If it opens in the same tab all the user has to do is hit the back button. Also, it doesn't clear the notification on the original page tab.
