Not sure what conflict you refer to

There seems to be an inference of conflict with evolution and the bible....where is it?

Talking about this subject invariably drifts off onto multiple subjects, with out ever resolving any question
Let’s start with a few basic ideas

Evolution proposes that life is old, and that life forms change over time.... like dogs have changed over time. As I understand it.... some creationist believe life is young (6000 years or so).... and that life is unchanging since there creator created all life just as it is now.

I think there is abundant evidence that life is old, and that life forms have changed over time.
As far as I see it, creationism relies entirely upon faith that is idiosychratic.... which is to say that even if you believe in the Bible, there’s an enormous divergence of opinion about what the Bible is saying.

Creationists would have to answer that question. The tenets of evolution are widely known, however there is very wide divergence about what the Bible means to say. For example, is life 6000 years old, or many billions of years old? I know how evolution would answer that question, but I do not pretend to know what the Bible says.... perhaps you can help

The Bible does not give an age. The 6000 years were came up with by humans.

You're taking the Bible literally, to prove what point?

The earth is about 4.5 billion years old , to hear the AGW cult propaganda it's only around 130 years old

Genesis is not a scientific paper, it's a narrative, and isn't required to please poorly educated neurotic idiots from the year 2017 who are terrified Da Xians N Joooos are going to break down their doors and deprive them of their butt plugs and breakfast meth.

problem is we know it is scientific fact. Evolution is at the foundation of the science of biology.

Well Usher used the chronology of the various people in the Bible and made an educated guess, the many begating going on in the Bible and its 6000 years roughly so the Bible does make a case for the age of the Earth being young using rough numbers and its not anywhere near millions and billions of years old. I don't agree, but the Bible and the theory of evolution are in conflict fundamentally.

A large number of Christians DO TAKE THE BIBLE LITERALLY, not only that, these Christians seem pretty clear that those who do no to believe in literalism are NOT CHRISTIAN

Which illustrates two points, First, it is ridiculous to criticize me for taking the Bible literally
Second, it is impossible to nail down creationists to any common belief except their faith that there is a creator. Beyond that the details become sketchy

So when did creation happen? How old is humanity? Did the creator start by creating a single human on one continent,,.. from which all the races somehow developed and spread across the world??
Wow, quite a stretch to DRAG AGW into this topic.

Bravo... so would you then agree that what ever the Bible says and means is highly dependent on the subjective interpretation of individual people. The pope, and by extension the Catholic Church, accepts evolution,... even as he also believes in the better bible... while many other people find this view heretical. So who speaks with authority on this topic

    From wiki

Young Earth creationism (YEC) is a form of creationism, a religious belief[1] which holds that the universe, Earth, and all life on Earth were created by direct acts of God less than 10,000 years ago.[2] Its primary adherents are Christians who subscribe to a literal interpretation of the creation narrative in the Bible's Book of Genesis and believe that God created the Earth in six 24-hour days.[3][4] In contrast to YEC, old Earth creationism is the belief in a metaphorical interpretation of the Book of Genesis and the scientifically-determined estimated ages of the Earth and Universe.[5]

Since the mid-20th century, young Earth creationists—starting with Henry Morris (1918–2006)—have devised and promoted a pseudoscientific explanation called "creation science" as a basis for a religious belief in a supernatural, geologically recent creation.[6]Contemporary YEC movements arose in protest to the scientific consensus, developed in numerous scientific disciplines, that shows that the age of the universe is around 13.8 billion years, the formation of the Earth happened around 4.5 billion years ago, and the first appearance of life on Earth as occurring around 3.5 billion years ago.[7][8][9][10][11][12]

A 2017 Gallup creationism survey found that 38% of adults in the United States held the view that "God created humans in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years" when asked for their views on the origin and development of human beings, which Gallup noted was the lowest level in 35 years.[13]

    Wiki..

    Seriously?

I remember when I lived in Arizona a few years ago and I got to witness young African girls at a babtist church I was going to , they were traveling around the United States, you should of been to church that day because it was really cool

No one ever talks about the earth being 6,000 years old.

    Because it's retarded

True. From what I've learned though, it seems to just explain how species can change over time. Not the origin of life. Their are lots of people who study the theory of evolution, but also believe God created the universe.

Well you are more fortunate than I am. I would want it to be proven so that these "debates" can just end. And on what I see as a more positive note as to what human beings actually are.

I think the claim of it being scientific fact is only fueld by mental opposition. It makes sense to question a theory, but they may have the same issue I do, where the reason for objecting to the theory matters.

We over-trusted our dating methods. That's one of the possibilities. There are other tons of possibilities.

The first mistake we usually made is that we assume that we can reach the past. We humans are actually creatures of the present. We are cut from direct access of the past, we are cut from the direct access of the future. It's a kind of difficulty for us to approach a truth happened in the past. We have to make a lot of assumptions in order to make even possible for us to approach the past.

Fundamentally, perhaps without your awareness, we have to assume that God doesn't exist. If God exists and due to a need He ever altered our time-space (or the time-space location of our earth) it means that all our dating method may have been nullified. Our dating methods work only under the assumption that planet earth is in its current position from the very beginning using our current measurement of our own time-space.

In my opinion, planet earth wasn't even created inside this space! It was created else where in parallel with the creation of this universe. It was then "plugged in" to its current location (in terms of time-space) on Day 4 of Genesis. Now just tell me how will your human dating methods work in this case? If from that point onward God altered the time-space location of earth, now how your human dating methods work?

Genesis said that the trees actually appeared on Day 3, which is before the stars appeared. Perhaps it's a necessity to create the trees first before earth was brought to its current location (in terms of time-space). It is necessary perhaps because a large reservoir of petroleum oil is needed from the large amount of trees in order for today's humans to be so. Dinosaurs can be anything. If they are needed as part of the process of making oil, they may die as a result during the moving of planet from another space to its current location. Once the oils are made ready, with earth moving to its current location, God can start to continue with other creations such as fishes and birds and so on, followed by Adam and Eve.

The other factor we tend to ignore is interbreeding between species. When "the sons of gods married with daughters of humans", it means that the genome of humans is no longer the same.

In a nutshell, history can actually be anything!

Jewish theology is built around the Jewish people and their origins and purpose; 'age of the Earth' issues relative to anything else outside of Judaism is not a concern it needs to worry about. It is entirely self-contained.

How old are the Jewish people by their own reckoning? .... One version:

    http://www.chabad.org/library/artic...-Old-is-the-Universe-According-to-Judaism.htm

... bold added by me. And more at the link.

Is this the place where they tell children that Jesus maybe rode a dinosaur

    https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-9a1d4785b9864141d103588d8089c3e1-c

With all respect, I think I was pretty clear in saying I did not want to discuss the many basis of evo skepticism, but instead wanted to hear an alternative theory that better explains the fossil record as well as other known geological facts

An interesting phenomena. What does it indicate?

Perhaps these dinosaurs breathed fire, or had multiple heads that regrow when one is cut off?
You know there are lots of old legends.... none of them look like a T. rex, or a mastodon, or a giant sloth, etc

Once again, let’s leave off the critique of evolution and present your superior theory that does not suffer from such problems
Ok, are you saying that creation happened when the strata of the earth came into being.... and people were created at that same time? Sorry to be picky , but evolutionists propose an answer to such questions and I want to understand your coherent alternative explanation

Since Science is formalized questioning, it is no surprise that there are questions
Otoh, what of faith? It seems to me that faith fundamentally evades such questions. We need to have faith... end of story.

Not so long ago we had faith that the world is the center of the universe, we had faith that god sent floods, droughts, plagues , earthquakes, etc. these were phenomena we did not understand and so we attributed them to god. Similarly, Now, we do not understand the origin of life... so we attribute it to god. And, just as an attack on geo-centrism was considered an attack on faith....so too today, IMO proposing evolution is reflexively battled for similar reasons
