Who would have thought? Harder to get guns? Lets use knives instead! The republicans have been saying it for years. I'm glad we have Australia as an experimental site to see what happens in an anti-gun society.

I thought these people wrestled gators. 6 of them couldn't take out one person with knife? Looks like they need guns more than they thought!

I'm sure those laws have helped some people in some situations. Sure! I also don't know how not bringing something up is the same as "ignoring" it. I also didn't mention the food toxin crisis, does that mean I purposely ignored it?

Yes, guns in the hands of the police. Just imagine if the maniac had been able to get an assault rifle? After the Port Jackson massacre our Aussie brothers banned such guns and I bet they're glad now.

I don't think ANYONE wants that. Ideally, you put down the target before they can start the carnage. Picture a school shooter being dropped like a bad habit before they can even aim their gun. I think its sweet to think you can stop criminals with the power of love but that doesn't work as well as a gun, sorry

I don't think I said I don't want any gun laws or regulations. I just don't think the average law abiding citizen should ever have to worry about being in such a big disadvantage against those with criminal intent. I don't think any political party has gotten it right on this issue so far. Too much regulation backfires and so does not enough regulation.

 

I'm all for the second amendment and citizens being able to own as many guns as they want. I own three myself.

You DO realize firearm-related deaths in Australia is 0.90 per 100k as compared to US at 10.84 per 100K. So is the 0.90 per 100K firearm-related deaths in Australia what you were referring to in regards to "what happens in an anti-gun society"?
Again, I am against any gun rights being taken away whatsoever from US citizens. I just wanted to understand what you meant by the bolded statement.
For the record, stabbing deaths per 100K in Australia is 0.48, in the US 0.60
