I love fishing for bass. I live in Florida and try to go fishing about once a week. I prefer to fish with wild shiners. Anyone out there like to bass fish? I'm always open to hear of a hot lake or river or a new technique. I have a17.5 foot aluminum Bass Tracker w/60HP 4-stroke Mercury. My favorite spot is the Ocklawaha River and next is the Withlacoochee River. I like to run a shiner up under vegetation and wait for a big lunker to swallow him and streak off.

Hi,,I love Bass fishing. I have a Lake just a walk from my house in Long Island N.Y. I fish from the shore and have used both live bait and artificial.

Live works best though. To cast it far out by a section of pads I have found using a slide Bobber best, ever use them? I use minnows, the Bass go nuts for them and the slide bobber will hold them just of the bottom when adjusted right.

You are lucky to have a lake with bass so close. My closest lake is about 20 minutes away as is the closest river. Wild shiners there are $19 per dozen. My favorite river is 45 miles away. There I can buy a dozen wild shiners for $10. I also use a bobber about three feet above the shiner hook. I use a bait caster reel with 40# braided line. No curls, no stretch, and I can pull it out of the weeds without it breaking. My best bass fishing trip, with a guide and a friend, we put 54 bass in the boat in four hours and never moved the boat, with the largest bass at six pounds. My largest bass to date is 9.5 pounds. I always catch and release.
