Ending the wars and closing Gitmo were two very big cornerstones of his campaign. He followed the Bush timeline on Iraq, escalated Afghanistan and made no attempt to close Gitmo. Hell he just signed a law allowing the indefinate detention of US citizens. Congress seems like an easy scapegoat, outside of Healthcare he really did not campaign for any of his idea's. He simply sat at the white house and played the blame game via his press sectretary. That is what I mean when I say he has put forth no effort.
I disagree with you completely, but I'll leave this alone here, as it is a derail from the topic of the thread.
I'm not a sycophant for our system. If you don't like it, how do you propose changing it? RP won't change anything. What is your recipe for change? Interesting. I never imagined you to be against our democratic republic. Live and learn, I guess.
1. Starting would be a good first step. But alas, you are happy with the corporatist whores that roam the halls of the washington, so starting will have to wait. I'm not, I'm against political stooges that help transform it to the fascist state.
Now boys, play nice!.....Dr. Paul is 76 ys old,and if he wins,he want be around long....actuary's say so!
Ron Paul says many wonderful things, many politicians do. Perhaps this won't be the year that we get to find out what kind of POTUS he would have been.
We can only hope this won't be the year. Anyone who thinks Ron Paul will bring a libertarian paradise as POTUS, doesn't understand what the real world consequences of his policies would be.
we know what the real world consequences of his opponents are. Apparently you like the big government, friend of the banker, war mongering, corporatist state.
Look! It's a false dichotomy! Never expected to find one on a political forum! [/sarc] Just because one recognizes RP is unrealistic at best, doesn't mean one supports the "corporate state". Unless you're suggesting that only Ron Paul supporters object to corporatism? That would be a truly arrogant assumption.
Well I cannot speak for any other candidates' supporters, I can safely say that Ron Paul is the only option who does object or is a significant threat to corporatism.
"Corpratism"...I have two corps...and would have three if I needed them...Busines is this nation, not handouts which I am sure your getting as of now,...wake up! You have to plant to harvest!
If he gets the nomination, I will not vote for him. I will vote 3rd party or write-in. Yes, Ron Paul might actually get me to vote 3rd party...oh the irony, LOL I dont trust him because I think he is nuts. It also doesnt help that he is about a million years old. In that debate the other night I kept expecting him to start cackling evilly and saying "Tales from the crypt".
I cannot vote for someone who thinks 9/11 was an inside job, wants to put his head in the sand for foreign affairs, has done very little in Congress other than being like Ross Perot to GM, lacks leadership skills in congress. He could never get elected nationally.
He would never give away America to anybody. You totally misunderstand his positions. That's what Obama and all the establishment Republicans want to do. They will surrender American sovereignty to a one world government by economically destroying us (either intentionally or unintentionally)
