Anyone else getting tired of this culture war crap?

Take for example the controversy about the new Barbie movie or the Harry Potter game that came out a few months ago. Loved the game and plan on seeing the movie and may even buy a Bud lite and perhaps some Black Rifle coffee while I am at it.

Learned of an app to let people know which brands are woke and would not be surprised if someone comes up with an app to make money off of some liberal outrage. It is just me or are there others that look at this culture war crap and think it has gone too far?

Why does anyone care what the political affiliation or political views of an entrepreneur is in a democracy that lives or dies by our ability or lack thereof to be reasonable and cooperate?

If I refused to buy anything from an individual or company that has said or stood for something I do not like… I fear I would be left naked and homeless.

It's funny you mention that, because I've thought about figuring out how to calculate what percentage of a purchase goes toward whatever anti/woke thing, mainly for my own sake. For instance, I still get chik-fil-a once in a while, and it would be nice to know how much of what I paid is going toward anti-lgbt+ groups. Seems like an app or website with that kind of info could be popular with both sides.

I'm absolutely sick of the culture war crap. But The optimist in me thinks that it's very close to its crescendo.

    Culture war?
Barbie Movie? The one to top 1B $$$?

The culture war is small, they are just loud and MAGA. The rest of the world is not in some fake news fake war.

This maddening infatuation with culture war is blatantly manufactured to keep the Rubes happy. It has zero bearing on reality other than to reinforce the tribal MAGAt anger. That's their only contribution to history, their infantile cry.

Way too many do. Although I do hope that they are a very loud yet annoying fringe element of society.

Both sides engage in the culture war. Heck, we all do to various degrees over our lives. I lean towards the problem being a loud minority on both sides… my concern is what if I am wrong?

Both sides are fanning the flames. Too many on each side not standing up to the extremes within their tribe.

This is too funny the people who fired the opening salvos in the culture wars are now mad because some one finally decided to shoot back? It is to laugh. Please note what history has shown often with great emphasis is that in societies in which anything goes, everything eventually does.

When you're a Repub who can't talk about issues because your views are unpopular with a majority of Americans you seek ways to motivate your base to vote for you while demonizing the other side.

Its election cycle and the RW is 100% focused on woke. It is presented as the new enemy which we must fear and vote for people who will save us from its evils. It has replaced communism and terrorists as the enemy #1, but unfortunately it is nowhere near as credible as the former two were.

Yes, - its ridiculous as hell, and it amazes me that people buy into the claims that its #1 priority. Heck, things must be good if that is indeed our biggest problem.

I'm sick of it too and am really not snobby with where products come from, except chocolate (lots of slave labor involved in MOST brands of it), but this all goes deeper. Forget the "culture" war, the left has raged a war against childrens' bodies and sorry, but absolutely UNACCEPTABLE

The trouble is the Democrats are shoving stuff down our throats with the LGBQ+ and the border. Conversely the Republicans are doing some of the the abortion issue.

After a while you've had enough of it. I don't drink beer, but if I did, it wouldn't be Bid Lite. I won't boycott Target, but I think less of them when they push a disproportionate amount of LGBQ+ merchandise to the front of the store. Gays and transgender people are a fact, and they should be respected, but they should respect parents enough to leave young children alone.

Middle and working class people are bearing the brunt of border crisis. The elites are pushing it on us, but it hardly affects their lives. The Democrats tell us, "You will accept these immigrants and shut up about it. We don’t care if they tear up your neighborhoods and ruin your schools. We don’t care if it makes you tax burden worse. If you complain, you are a bigot."

This is one of the reasons why Donald Trump has so much support in the Republican Party.

Cool, so we’re in agreement that anyone with a political ideology in business should probably **** about it? Or are we only concerned with the reaction to them voluntarily using their power, platform and money to project that ideology?

seems to me some of us want to be able to say whatever they want and pretend the problem only exists with anyone wanting to say something back

How exactly are the Democrats doing that? They are not doing it to me, so I am curious how they do it to you.

I dont feel they cram is down my throat. They have taken the authoritarian stance on it, but that doesnt cram it down my throat

Florida has always had massive Latino population, so it doesn't bother me, but how are "the elites" pushing it?

You agree with the Democrat program at least 95% of the time. So you can’t perceive of any Democrat coercion.

How is “the authoritarian stance” different from pushing anti abortion laws down you throat?

I guess you are not watching the news from New York City. The progressive mayor is telling us that his city has reached its limit. The elites in Washington, DC and those rich progressives living in gated communities can say, “Look at those close minded, bigoted little people who are complaining about our open borders policies.”

Be nice! I'm pretty sure NYC's ILLEGALS problem is never mentioned on The View, Tik Tok, Saturday Night Live or any other liberal "news" sources.
    It is NOT his fault!

That is not true (not even close), but can you answer the question without trying to define my views aka trying to make it about me?

How are Democrats cramming LGBT down your throat?

My question is simple: How is the GOP cramming abortion issue down your throat? They are not doing it to me, so I am curious how they do it to you.

It is truly amazing how a leftist refuses to acknowledge their political philosophy. Is there one conservative measure that you would support? Is there area where you differ with the Democrats?

I am prochoice over the first six months or so a pregnancy. That seems to put me at odds with most Republicans. I have become uncomfortable with the censorship that Ron DeSantis is exercising on high school curriculums. Censoring Shakespear for sexuality for high school students is going too far.

And yes, the Democrat open borders policy is stuffing their views down my throat. Crime, homelessness and poverty are all going to increase. Once these illegals get the vote, the Democrats will control the government because they will buy their votes with programs.
