Their internecine disputes in Congress may reveal a fundamental mutual dissonance.

On the same day as the 2024 total solar eclipse, Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) House Judiciary Committee posted a bizarre image showing Donald Trump’s enormous head blocking out the sun.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Friday’s 4.8-magnitude earthquake in the Northeast and the upcoming eclipse are signs from the Lord for Americans to repent.

God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come!"

So, is Trump's big, fat noggin occluding the sun an ominous divine portent or a manifestation of the sexual abuser's divinity?

There was no lack of astronomical acumen displayed regarding the cosmic phenomenon, but Jordan and Greene debating the import of the lunar transit would have been far more entertaining than Neil DeGrasses Tyson's celestial exegesis.

Trump's head and divine warnings are very humorous, indeed.

Divine warnings? Meh, not so much. You clearly are not in on the joke. Perhaps that is because the joke is on you.

This is satire intended to be emblematic of how you TDS folks foolishly and needlessly allow one man to take away your sun. In that sense, it is thought-provoking and rather deep.

    Nope.

I hit the nail right on the head.

The joke is on you which is why you did not get it, and instead thought it to be "bizarre" rather than satire.

    Sorry.

It's quite the joke. Trump's comparison of himself to Jeses. Ho-ho-ho!

Did Trump make that with the big jowls?

I suspect he did not and that you have instead been duped. You took a picture made by a leftist to be negative toward Trump and have worked yourself up into a lather convincing yourself that Trump himself is comparing himself to Jesus.

Apparently he blots out YOUR sun as well. Get in line. It is long.

    https://www.npr.org/2024/01/26/1227...online-depicts-trump-as-a-messiah-like-figure

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: God looked down on his planned Paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So God gave us Trump.

MARTÍNEZ: The video comes from the Dilley Meme Team, a group of video creators that support Trump for president. It's called "God Made Trump" and it's played at some Trump campaign events. So we wanted to dig into how its message is playing with an important group of Trump supporters - white evangelicals. Robert Jones is the president and founder of the Public Religion Research Institute. He spoke with our colleague Steve Inskeep.

What are you talking about, this wasn't a video that we were discussing.

    Sorry.

You took a picture made by a leftist to be negative toward Trump and have worked yourself up into a lather convincing yourself that Trump himself is comparing himself to Jesus. I understand why you are now trying to change the subject, but such a change in direction is not credible

Marjorie Taylor Greene's thinking that Trump's head blocking the sun (as envisioned by Jim Jordan) is a warning from god is funny, but not "satire."

You realize this is a strawman where you are arguing against a point that has not been raised do you not?

The only one referring to a video here is you. I am not sure why you are using Snopes on YOUR strawman.

Hmm, so instead of addressing what is being discussed that legitimately occurred, you have decided to fabricate a story and then pretend like that supports your point?

That is silly. Some would even say it is undignified.

Greene expatiated upon the eclipse as an ominous, divine warning.

Fellow Trumpy Rep. Jordan promulgated his vision of the eclipse as Trump's head occluding the sun.

I had noted their conflicting interpretations in my initial post, of course.

But that isn't what was being discussed between you and I, thus the Greene diversion is a strawman argument. You and I were solely discussing the eclipse image you posted and your mischaracterization that it is "bizarre".

Strawman arguments are not the domain of those holding a strong position in a debate. I can only surmise you didn't like where that was going. It was satire that went over your head. It was satire aimed in your direction. You allow Trump to take away your sun. You give him far too much power in that regard. It is humorous to watch. It is reminiscent of those people screaming at the sky when he won, or wearing the vagina hats. It seemingly never ends with you folks.

I quoted Greene verbatim regarding her ominous divination of the eclipse, and posted an unaltered image of Jordan's depiction of the eclipse.

Do you care to address the seeming incongruity of Greene's and Jordan's disparate attitudes toward the eclipse?

    If not, so be it.

    Hmmm.

You were responding to ME discussing the Trump blocking your sun satire by saying "Marjorie Taylor Greene's thinking that Trump's head blocking the sun (as envisioned by Jim Jordan) is a warning from god is funny, but not "satire."

In addition to being a strawman to my post that you were replying to, there is not a "verbatim quote" to be found and it certainly was not referring to Trumps blocking out the sun satire.

My comment on "the seeming incongruity of Greene's and Jordan's disparate attitudes toward the eclipse", is that Jordans satirical posting ( he copied it rather than produced it) had not one thing to do with anything Greene may have said regarding earthquakes and the like. To say you are conflating here is an understatement.

Your purposeful deception is both silly and undignified.

I think that "portrait" of Trump blocking the sun and looking like he's sporting a halo are indicative of Jordan's worship of the former toddler-in-chief.

The divine warnings were from Marge. Did you get stuck on the Trump eclipse and not get that far in the OP? ;-)
