Meh, makes sense to the scientifically ignorant. I would suggest joining the Scientific American Bookclub and purchasing an inexpensive education.
As I said, good jokes have truth to them. This one doesn't. It's another example of being told what we believe.
Don't have a belief in any gods. That's the ONLY thing that defines atheism. The "joke" in this seems to be about science.
No, he isn't. You appear to be conflating science with lack of belief in a God. Much like the erroneous OP.
Atheism believes there is no God. But definitely, there is no big-bang theory! The Bible says that "God created the heavens and the earth." Heavens include the moon, the stars, the sun and all the planets. Evolution is a myth.
But wouldn't a god doing all of that in a day be like a big (*)(*)(*)(*)ing explosion/bang anyway? God: (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)es i am about to make it rain GALAXIES! -CABOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM- God: Holy (*)(*)(*)(*) that was a big bang...
I like how the atheists can dish it out but they can't take it. Where'd your sense of humor go, guys? You were all smug and full of yourselves a minute ago in the atheist humor threads. Why so serious now?
Bad luck. As a Chreastionist I don't think there's a good chance to learn German. Perhaps I have to learn Latin instead. On the other side: How intelligent is a doctor who's smoking? - and what knows a cartoon really about his own creation? http://youtu.be/0XoXIC2Jctw
What a nonsense. The universe is expanding - if you are reversing this expansion in your thoughts (=that's a kind of mathematics) then everything was in a little point a short time after the beginning. The universe was for example once in the size of a ping-pong-ball and since this days it has the same quantity of energy. If I'm right then it was the christian philosopher Augustinus who spoke the first time about the timeless word of god creating everything out of nothing. This was more than 1500 years ago. Today we understand more about the universe in a better way - that's all. Your lack of knowledge in physics has nothing to do with the christian religion. http://youtu.be/x8h-OyspcOk
Yep, this joke is in fact about science. Atheism =/= belief in the big bang, hell even some science =/= belief in the big bang. Cosmic fail
If you will have finished one day your studies of the german language then try it with "Geo Kompakt Nr. 29: Der Urknall ... und wie die Welt entstand" €8.50. http://youtu.be/srI1VsRDytw
Thing is it's not so much a joke as a paraphrased creationist argument, photoshopped and attributed to the wrong target (it should be science .. not atheism). I can't help it if the joke fails so badly that it's not funny.
DOH, therein lies the satire, Nancy. Hard to see things as jokes when they offend your belief eh? To quote an atheist friend of mine: "If you don't like it, avert your eyes!"
I'm not offended, it's just not a great joke... not laughing because it's not funny is not the same as taking offence. Now *this* is a funny joke about atheists
