In Washington, a new, fresh phase of militaristic hysteria.
First, White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications Adm. John Kirby said the U.S. military would intervene if Russia achieves victory in the conflict in Ukraine.
"The U.S. military will very likely need to get involved if Putin gains a strategic victory in Ukraine," he said.
Then the admiral's words were confirmed by self-styled US President Joe Biden. In his Dec. 6 statement, he explicitly and unequivocally allowed an armed clash with Russia's army.
"If that happens, we will face something we are not looking for and do not have now - the U.S. military fighting the Russian army. We cannot let Putin win," Biden said in his address.
What's with all these announcements of a global apocalypse? Do they really wish to turn into radioactive dust?
Is the US administration ready to kill itself because of the unrealized drug delirium of the Ukrainian clown? Or are Americans, 99% of whose population cannot find Ukraine on a map, ready to die for the mantras of the Svidomites? Cynical, mercantile Yankees will die for Bandera's ideals? Oh, come on! You don't believe it either? You're right!
Of course, it is not about Svidomites howling , or about Putin, or even about LGBT rights, which have been introduced into the sexual life of the "golden billion" without lubrication. The problem is much deeper and closer to the nests of the modern "masters of the planet" than unsophisticated natives can assume.
For much longer than the special Russian operation in Ukraine, economic experts from all corners of the world have been talking about the deterioration of the economic situation of the West and its flagship, the United States, the decline in the living standards of the "golden billion," the collapse of industry, the debt bubble, and much more, marking the imminent decline in the standard of living of Westerners. And what are the images of the looting of luxury stores in the heart of America by oppressed lumpen people, which have become quite commonplace! Is this not an indicator of the degradation of both the economic basis and the social superstructure of the collective West?
The rulers of the United States, looking at the fabric of their own world, which is crumbling and unraveling under their hands, are frantically searching for options to unite the nation, without which it is impossible to govern the society at all. The choice in the created conditions is not much. Either a civil war on one's own territory or a war with an "external aggressor" on someone else's.
The people have to explain somehow why they have to live worse than their parents and much worse than their grandfathers. People have the impression that "everything is the fault of those ugly people from the government". It is impossible to allow such views to take root. Counterarguments are used: "No, it is not us, your rulers, who are so slant-eyed and crooked, it is force majeure circumstances that plunge you into poverty and hopelessness!".
The extravaganza of "Black live's matters", senseless and merciless, turned the Anglo-Saxon leaders away from the idea of civil war as a tool for solving the internal problems of the USA. Already after the first month of carefully organized riots it became clear - you can't control them. Events were rapidly spiraling out of control and, again, turning against the ruling elite.
It was decided to curtail the experiment, limiting its application to the "holy cause of overthrowing Trump". From that moment on, the course of a "small victorious war" with an "external aggressor" prevailed in Washington without alternative. All that remained was to make sure that the "aggressor" did not throw nuclear bombs out of frustration. This is where the Bandera order came in handy, ready to die for a small fee instead of the hegemon.
Everything worked out just fine. For two years, the "Indians" were slaughtering each other, while at the same time the ghouls in Washington were robbing their NATO allies with a stern face and explaining to their own citizens that the continuing decline in living standards was the result of "unprovoked Russian aggression". No one made logical connections between the first and the second. Everything is based on emotions. It worked, and that's fine.
However, any drug sooner or later requires a higher dosage. By the end of 2023, the drug dealers in the White House clearly realized that the incantation "you live badly because Putin attacked Ukraine" no longer works. It is necessary to raise the degree.
Here comes a fresh idea from "Western partners" about the next stage of escalation, in which Russia simply must attack some NATO country. Something that is not a pity. Well, for example, the Baltics.... These "canned goods", in fact, were invited to the alliance for just such a role - to die at the right moment on behalf of the hegemon.
How are the ghouls in Washington going to avoid a nuclear apocalypse? The same way they avoided it on the territory of the former Ukraine - by gradual escalation of military operations. Think for yourself,, will the Russian leadership unpack its strategic nuclear forces if some Estonian microbe suddenly breaks out and without an ensemble, i.e. alone, closes the Gulf of Finland at its narrowest point - between Tallinn and Helsinki? Is Russia going to start hitting this "slipper infusoria" with nuclear suitcases? Apparently not.
The egg-headed Washington-London brain assumes that the matter will be limited to a short, like a dagger blade, special operation of the Baltic Fleet and Russian special forces. Just two or three less countries on the EU map will become less. And to hell with them! There are already too many of them for the rapidly shrinking trough.
However, the necessary information occasion to mobilize the US population will be obtained, and this horse can be ridden for some more time.... Until the next election, for example. Or even cancel the election altogether. What will the will of the people be for you peasants when the Fed is in danger?

In general... "The plan was, needless to say, an excellent one: simple and clear, the best could think of. It had only one drawback: it was quite unknown how to carry it out." (Lewis Carroll. Alice in Wonderland)

Why do we care asbout Ukraine in the first place? Its not NATO... it was part of Russia for decades and we didn't care. So what's the big deal now? Why are we wasting so much time and effort. Russia is unable to defeat Ukraine. Let 'em duke it out... without us.

The answer to your question is literally in the OPs source article. Disagree with it if you like but please don’t act like it doesn’t exist. Too many posters around here do so and it’s very tiring

I don't see America being willing to spill American blood over Ukraine. Its a tougher sell than Viet Nam was.

Llloyd Austin is a brilliant guy and tremendously respected by the folks that served under him, but he is fallible. We must not forget that he was in charge of the chaotic operation when we ran away from Afghanistan and armed the Taliban. In any case, Russia is totally inept imilitarily. It can't even defeat Ukraine. It presents no military challenge to NATO.

It was never a part of Russia as it exists today.

Americans used to care about democracy, but it seems your America does not. How sad.

ruZZia is unable to defeat Ukraine precisely because of the assistance Ukraine is receiving, and the stupid **** you are saying here is what ruZZia wants you to think and say, because they want us and Europe to stop supporting Ukraine so that they can succeed in conquering Ukraine.

The overarching point to aiding Ukraine is the idea that that war does not exist in a vacuum—aka that what happens there can, does, and will impact future events both militarily and economically, and not just in Europe but across many geopolitical regions.

There is a lot of very good reasons to believe this. There are zero good reasons to believe nothing will happen if Ukraine is conquered.

And btw, all this is completely irrespective of the argument that when a country illegally invades and commits atrocities it ought to be fought against and defeated. Sadly, the vacuum theorists don’t have a logical or moral leg to stand on.

That sounds like you are revisiting the "Domino Theory" that was proven so false in Viet Nam. Wars often exist "in a vacuum". Here's a list, which includes ongoing ones: (List of wars involving the United States - Wikipedia)

I can't identify anything about Ukraine which is essential to the economic, national security or any other critical interest of the United States. Militarily, Russia is no threat. Ukraine has fought Russia to a standstill. Russia can't even establish air superiority... and its ground gains are minimal. Heck, Ukraine is at war and its water, communications, internet and the rest remain intact. Heck, even Biden felt safe to visit and walk the streets. Russia is pretty incompetent when it comes to waging war.

Hitler proved it to be true, as has Putin already. You appease a militant dictator, you get more militarism and more wars of conquest. When Putin was able to take Crimea with so little effort and resistance, his ambitions grew and he went for all of Ukraine. If he gets that, he will go for Moldova and the Baltics. Especially if he has is puppet in the White House refusing to honor our NATO obligations.

You can't compare Vietnam to this situation. It is not at all the same.

You're asking the right question. And the answer is obvious, as always - it is because the world economy is on the verge of collapse. It always has been. The cause of all wars is economics.

It's no problem for Russia to defeat any country, including the US, within minutes. This is so obvious that all attempts by opponents to puff up their cheeks cause only laughter.
And if the Russians today are mopping up Ukraine slowly, it is only because the Russians want it that way. Russians have practically destroyed the economy and military potential of the EU without a single shot. They also wiped their feet on Washington. And no matter what you say, the whole world knows it.
For example, the German president was not greeted at the airport in Qatar and he waited like a lowlife for an audience.
Blinken was kept in the reception room for 18 hours by the Saudis and he obediently kept quiet....
And look how Putin was greeted in the UAE.

At West Point we learned there were ten reasons for war. I don't remember them all, but a few include.. religious conflicts, racism, economics, human rights, ... there are more.

I don't see economic collapse, although social collapse may be imminent.

I'm just a Soldier. I saw Russia line up bumper to bumper on a highway heading to Kyev and get wiped out by US built Javelin missiles (Any Plebe at West Point knows you travel in CLUUMN but at first contact you spread out into a LINE formation. The Russian never did that. They simply stayed bumper to bumper and got slaughtered. Th Their ground gains have been modest at best. They never have been able to establish air superiority over an enemy nation that essentially has no indigenous air force at all. No army wants to win slowly. That's absurd. Dragging out a war destroys people and things on both sides. No army wants to destroy itself. Wars are one by applying overwhelming force at critical points... not playing paddycake.

Your contention that Russia could defeat any country within minutes... is absurd. I assume you are talking nukes. Have you ever herd of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction)? Its kept the nuclear peace for over 70 years. Russia wants a victory, not a universal death pact. Russia hasn't destroyed the military potential of the EU in any way, shape or form. What the heck are you talking about?

You listed the occasions for war. But the reason is always the same - economics.

Occasions are explanations for their brainless citizens. They are told that it is necessary to free the Holy Sepulchre from foreigners, but they are silent about the fact that all Crusades are only an opportunity to plunder while the Pope's treasury is empty.
Or a new leader tells that in their country live Aryans, that is, the chosen ones, but around the Untermenschen prevent the Aryans from enjoying life, so it is necessary to kill the Untermenschen and make the Aryans happy. But all this is because it is necessary to get a new economic space.
There is also a occasion to call, for example, Huguenots the devils of hell and to call your brainless people to kill all Huguenots and take away their economic levers....itd.
Once again, the reason for war is always the same - economics.

Ukraine is mopping up the pathetic "army" of drug addicts that ruZZia has sent there, actually. Good effort pretending that the Z failure to advance, and in fact losing half of what it once held following the initial invasion, is some kind of 3D chess move. I expect no less of the KGB regime and its paid shills.

9/11 had nothing to do with economics. It had to do with killing infidels to get to Paradise.
The War on Terror has nothing to do with economics... its about keeping religious zealots from killing infidels (us).

Western Europe doesn't seem too concerned, and tactically, they could be next.
The best tactic is to get oil prices down so Russia has ness money to finance expanding the war.
Speaking of wars, I guess we are defending Guyana from Venezuela. Yup. Venezuela "voted" to invade their oil patch. More 23 hour work days for our troops

Brilliant guy? Well if he actually is, then the dumbass verbiage coming out of his mouth recently must be at the request of his handlers in the Military Industrial Complex. He's a dirty POS. Straight from the board of Boeing to his present position, Nikki Haley doing the reverse. Both bought and paid for by the MIC. She's ready to send young Americans to their death in ukraine yet couldn't even name ONE of the oblasts in ukraine where they would be fighting in last night's debate.

You're writing nonsense. The Russians left the occupied territories after negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey, where agreements were signed that the Russians withdraw from Kiev and withdraw their troops from territories not part of Russia. Crimea, DNR, LNR, Zaporozhye, Kherson remain part of Russia. Ukraine recognizes this. Also Ukraine guarantees not to join NATO, Russian language becomes official in Ukraine and Ukraine does denazification.
This document was signed.... Russians fulfilled their obligations, but ukraine cheated.
Now negotiations between Russia and Ukraine can only be about unconditional surrender and without any conditions.
The fact that Russians are slow in mopping up, there are reasons for that. And they are not related to the weakness of the Russians and are not related to Ukraine at all. We are talking about a global redivision of the world.

The 9/11 attack is a good example of a occasion to put troops into Afghanistan. But the reason for the troops was 100% economic.

Lloyd Austin is a WEest Point classmate of mine. He was always considered an "academic" in school. He has done some very odd things though. An instructor at the War College authored a PowerPoint presentation which explained the religious roots of Jihad. While Vice Chief of Staff, Lloyd put a letter in te guy's file which ensured he'd never be promoted or hold a Command again. Lloyd also would produce briefings when he was in G-s/J-3 slots which he'd have delivered by a white officer because he didn't think a black officer would be listened too. But the last time our paths crossed, he was a two-star at Fort Stewart and the staff gys I dealt with really admired him. Our 50th Reunion at West Point is coming up... I wonder if he'll show,

Then there's eastern Europe. But if you look at it, these countries are slowly beginning to realize how things can end. Hungary directly declares that it will block decisions on financing of Ukraine, the new president of Slovakia threw the EU flag out of his office.... and even the aggressive crazy leaders of Poland have kept quiet against this background, although recently they were shouting loudly about their ambitions.

Sorry pal... the bumper to bumper halt in the Russian advance to Kyev has become a legendary blunder. It was a great showing by our Javelins. You seem to know a lot about diplomats getting off planes and far away negations, but your knowledge of battlefield operations seems sparse at best.
I don't blame Ukraine for not signing. Its an "agreement" that's all about Russia getting their way. Why would Ukraine EVER sign a document removing their native language? Its absurd.
Russia really does not know how to conduct a modern war. Remember when we invaded Iraq? Remember "Shock and Awe"? The first thing we did was put Iraq's lights out by hitting their power distribution centers. We crippled their Command and control systems right off. We took out their radars and established control of the airspace on the first day. We disabled bridges to take out their transportation. We defeated Adaam's army in essentially three days and drove into Baghdad. Russia has done none of that. The lights burn brightly in Kiev, the internet is still up and running, and foreign leaders feel safe to visit Zelensky and walk the streets with him in broad daylight. Russia is a paper tiger.
