Anybody know if the autosave feature here that pops up every time you place a post is inherent to the site's software, or an 'external' entity doing this?
It's an add-on feature of this forum for forum users' convenience and once you type in a post, you won't lose it when your Internet service is disrupted. A draft saved on the system will be deleted once you finish a post and it has nothing to do with the NSA's domestic spying programme.
May I ask how you know this, please? I can trust that it's 'deleted'? That's awful broad. It occurs every time you change punctuation, capitalize, or other correct errors as your typing. I'm thinking that a lot of 'drafts' to be saved for deletion (just my opinion though). Thank you for your response. I appreciate the direction. PS 'Auto save' IS one of the ways the NSA monitors and keeps communications 'saved' for further retrieval these days (according to Mr. Snowden).
Are we being a bit paranoid here? I often stop to think while posting or try to fix an error and am glad it's there. What is the problem with it?
Well, this video might explain things for you on where deleted files actually go. It might make you somewhat paranoid. It's ten and a half minutes long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5s4-Kak49o
