according to federal law, intra-state sales require no transfer through an FFL. that includes internet sales that are intra-state.

registered posse should be able to have weapons authorized by the chief law enforcement officer present.

if by internet sales you mean a site like "gunbroker.com" no, you can't. You have to have it shipped to an FFL. If you are talking about a site like "armslist.com" which is basically a craigslist for guns, you still can't have them shipped to you. You must meet the seller in person, but you don't have to go through an FFL for transfer.

And Armslist is the only site I know that will even list private sales, and they do not get involved in the transaction.

If I were buying a gun from a family member or someone I had known for years, and assuming it was legal [in your state], I would do a non-FFL transfer.

Anyone buying a gun from someone they don't know, and they don't go through an FFL, isn't very bright imho.

It happens all the time on armslist in my state. We make it incredibly easy to get an untraceable no background checked gun

Any gun can be made untraceable with 5 minutes and a diamond file.

The problem is that the average "time to crime" for a gun is 10 years. By the time a stolen gun is used in a crime, it's passed through the hands of about 20 people, who can't be traced even if the S/N is still magically on the gun.

Ballistics tracing is a huge failure too. Take a look at CoBIS.

All research shows that this is not the primary method criminals use to get guns. Straw purchases and through their own social network is how they get guns.

not at all. thugs don't want a federal perjury charge on top of whatever they are being busted for.

wow, you really think the average thug gives a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing (*)(*)(*)(*) about a charge of perjury??????

LOL!!! you give these thugs too much credit.

if we made it possible again for them to buy guns at their local Dicks, Walmart, or gun store, its safe to assume that they will take advantage of that new wonderful privilege.

They get them from straw purchases though. And you still can't predict if someone who pass a background will commit a crime later.

Indeed it is not. Attempting something that is known full well to be a failure, simply in the name of doing something, is not worth doing at all.

The better concern is, Why are the criminals that illegally possess & carry firearms, not prosecuted to the full extent of the law ???

There was an article in the News in Oregon, that Felons / Criminals that are caught carrying a concealed pistol illegally get charged with a Misdemeanor and do not get Jail time.

    http://portlandtribune.com/pt/9-news/303552-181319-gun-crime-and-punishment

They should be charged with Felony possession of a firearm, Felony for illegal carry of a firearm, by a Felon, and get at least Five years in Jail.
If they are involved in a Crime, such as holding up a business or Robbery, another Felony, counting as three strikes.

It is not legal to send anyone a gun mail order anywhere, by a courier of any type, only eyeball sales are permitted, you cannot verify identity of the buyer otherwise.

    Exactly !

Your opinion on the AR in tight Quarters is quite untrue, an AR is my choice for tight Quarters hands down for many reasons, since your opinion differs from most, it is your responsibility to produce proof positive and not a mere opinion, My reasoning is based on experience with the AR Rifle and the M-16A2.
