I find it hard to believe that a person who deals "with all kinds day in and day out." does not know that there are numerous women who continue to have regular periods through out the whole length of a pregnancy and as such did not even know they were pregnant until they went into labour or that there are women who have no regular periods .. usual due to a medical condition .. and yet you dismiss them as "being crazy or psychopaths." .. personally with an attitude like that you should not be allowed within 100 yards of a pregnant woman regardless of how that pregnancy came about.

    Questions :

Do you believe that a person has the right to defend themselves against non-consented injuries up to and including deadly force if that is the only way to stop those injuries from occurring?

Would you consider a 400% increase in hormones in your body an injury?
Would you consider a 15% increase in blood pressure an injury?
Would you consider suppression of local immune responses an injury?
Would you consider a new organ growing inside your body an injury?
Would you consider the re-routing of your circulatory system an injury?

Would you defend yourself against a mentally incompetent person, including deadly force if required, if they were injuring you without your consent?

If you answered yes to any or all of the above, then why are you attempting to deny rights you have from others?

I'm just saying that guidelines can easily be bent with abortion clinics. Unless photos from ultrasounds are documented and overseen, aborted babies can be much older than legally allowed. The evidence is either thrown away or sold to buyers.

Well---I they were about as bad as the Asian and African ladies that put multiple rings on their necks to make themselves look like giraffes.

In summary: ignorance is no excuse.

Clearly, anyone who has unborn child inside them moving around---certainly by the third trimester---has extreme mental issues if they say they don't know something is up.

Possibly, a severely obese woman might not be able see or possibly feel the changes of pregnancy---but they have mental issues already with their obesity.

I think you may have seen too many re-runs of the movie "Alien" where the poor victim didn't know he was impregnated until he was giving birth.

I find your attitudes on self defense quite laughable, given your views on defending the UK's ban on people being able to carry and use guns for self defense.

A pregnancy is natural consequence of having sex. If the woman was SO concerned about having all the possible bad side effects of pregnancy, then she should not have sex, or get her tubes tied.

If she was raped as part of a criminal act---then she can use a Plan-B drug or be allowed an abortion within the first few weeks if that is her wish.

I'm not a women, but most good mothers consider their pregnancy a blessing, and will bear the side effects with little remorse.

You are ignorance of the issue is no reason to claim women are "being crazy or psychopaths."

Twenty-two year old Kate Hudson, of Melbourne reportedly gave birth about two weeks after she first discovered she was pregnant while on a holiday with friends in Europe. She stated "I had absolutely no real clear symptoms. I was still getting regular periods. I wasn't nauseous, no morning sickness, little weight gain, so it seemed silly to think I would be pregnant. All I had leading up to it was constipation, and I went from a C-cup to a D-cup." Professor Michael Permezel, the president of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said the hospital he works at sees 6000 births a year and two or three will involve women who didn't know they were pregnant. "It's less common in women of normal weight and more common in women who are overweight, but it certainly happens," Professor Permezel said. "It's uncommon without being rare."

Most fetuses kick in utero but some do so less than others. Some mothers who are unaware of their pregnancy may have a fetus that moves less frequently, which may mean movements are mistaken for digestive conditions. The position of the placenta may also impact whether a mother feels her fetuses movements. If the placenta is located on the front wall of a woman's uterus this could provide extra cushioning and may prevent the woman from feeling the pitter-patter of tiny feet.

You have no idea of my views on Gun ownership in the UK and apart from that it is off topic, why oh why can pro-lifers never address the issues at hand instead they have to try to evade.

Oh dear, that word natural again .. you do know that something cannot be natural that is covered by laws don't you ie as soon as the unborn are seen as persons and protected they are no longer a natural event and as such are subject to ALL laws.

So you do not consider non-consented injuries as a criminal act?

BTW : It is noted that you evaded answering a single one of the questions.

Your pseudo-study was just an opinion of some doctor. He was not doing a scientific study that measured mental issues. Any normal woman in her right mind with a NORMAL pregnancy IS going to gain weight and have a heavy mass of some 7 lbs squirming around inside her.

Bringing out weak and unusual cases to defend your strong bias for clinical abortions on demand is about par for the course with the Pro-Choicers.

YOU haven't presented any good factual arguments on why women shouldn't be allowed control of their own bodies, the freedom of choice...

There ARE sometimes unusual circumstances surrounding pregnancy and YOU certainly are no expert. You can't even address my posts and questions.....

YOU think all women are identical and if they stray from your self righteous path they have mental issues....how frustrating that so many women ignore other people's "rules"....:)

Let's start with your hypocritical stance on self defense (as your gun control views are on record in the forum). You want no rights for defense of the unborn outside of what the mother or doctors want---and you don't want the weaker citizens like women and the elderly to keep and bear handguns (the world's best self-defense weapon). Do you want women to have the right to self defense only from unborn babies inside them?

You don't like the idea of people taking responsibilities for their own actions. Typical.

Again, in cases of rape, incest or other criminal acts---then I would grant an abortion if done in the first few weeks. In cases where the woman "accidently" became pregnant from consensual sex---then her "harm" is self-inflicted.

Let's hear you mantra one more time: "It's all about the woman!"

I get it. You don't like my views and views of other Pro-Lifers. I get it.

As I've said, I don't support having MY federal or State tax dollars going for abortions. I don't support having abortion clinics in MY state. I am grateful for any state that makes it impossible for abortion doctors to get licences.

Again, let the pagans be pagans. If Godless people want to kill their excess baggage---their unborn clumps of cells slowing them down----then let them do it in their own states that allow it. They can all hop in a car or train or bus and be in a abortion clinic within a day. This is the 21st Century, ya know. It's not like they have to walk or ride in a wagon.

And let's see some better studies extensive mental health studies on women with elective abortions.

Testimonials only work when you're selling hair-growth cures.

Are there any clinics in that state that will do a 3rd trimester abortion?

and of course you have plenty of scientific studies to show that women who did not know they were pregnant are/were "being crazy or psychopaths." please do provide them.

I'd suggest doing some research on cryptic pregnancies but I know you wouldn't want to be educated out of your ignorance.

Ignoring reality is pretty much the stock position of pro-lifers.

Self-defence is not just about having a gun in your hand . .which it seems most pro-lifers think it is, and I have not made any statement about the highlighted item above .. in fact I am on record as stating I do not believe in a total gun ban. For anyone who is interested my opinions on gun ownership can be found here - http://www.politicalforum.com/gun-control/370106-gun-control-us.html

I believe every person has the right to self-defence regardless of their sex or current situation (pregnant or not), so no I am not hypocritical on it, that would be you who feels it is ok for a person to defend themselves against non-constented injuries except if they are defending themselves against non-consented injuries incurred due to pregnancy.

typically you ignore the fact that getting an abortion IS a person taking responsibility for their actions .. it just happens to be a action YOU don't like.

nope, sorry, if as you suggest a fetus is a person from conception then any and all injuries incurred after that point are not and cannot be self-inflicted .. self-inflicted means a wound or other harm inflicted on oneself ie no other person involved. So what is it, is the fetus a person from conception or not? seems to me you want it all ways .. but there again the conflictive nature of pro-life ideology is nothing new.

You are entitled to your views .. problem is most of them are not based on reality.

They don't except in very specific circumstances and why should your state be allowed to violate a constitutional right?

Oh dear another "so called Christian" who is under the illusion that "good Christian women" don't have abortions.

It wouldn't matter to people like you, no matter what mental health studies are done if it didn't adhere to what you want you would just ignore and/or dismiss them, such as this study - http://www.aomrc.org.uk/doc_view/9432-induced-abortion-and-mental-health - by The National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health in 2011

some people don't like to think it is the UNITED States of America unless that United States of America agrees with them .. if it doesn't then they think a single State should be able to over rule Federal law and the Constitution to suit their own desires

    Replace "Down Syndrome" with "homosexuality":

    Adoption

    /eugenical argument

The only factor relevant in the debate is at what point life begins - after that point abortion should be illegal for any reason, except the life of the mother. Pretty simple.
