Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy

Let's see, kids shouting they are inspired to be "civil engineers, doctors, architects", also that they "will be taking responsibility for their own lives"!

Maybe these kids will buy houses in YOUR neightborhood when they do well! Run away!

My hope for this new school is simple... since these are 'smart' boys, they'll have sense enough to realize Barack Obama isn't necessarily hero-worship material. Can't help but think how ridiculous it woulda been to see DISD open a Jimmy Carter Leadership Academy after he'd been in office 18 months. No doubt the name of that school woulda been changed in time... doubt that will happen in this case since it's located in the heart of the black community, but a school named after a one-term failure of a president will definitely face scrutiny at some point.

 

Well, since Obama is the FIRST black in two plus centuries of our country since minorities were finally allowed by our laws to be president, you have to forgive the impatience of some groups to use him as an example of leadership.

 

I personally wouldn't trust anything the Obama administration has a small hand in, or completely orchestrates. They have so many initiatives in the school system in conjunction with Eric Holder of the DOJ, that they could be modelling statistical analysis, from an admittedly "elite" leadership academy, and looking to apply those findings, disciplinary especially, towards public school systems of the "non elite."

When you look at the plans laid out by Mr. Holder, and can't find the word parent in any of the restructuring of disciplinary actions in public schools, then always, always question what is behind the curtain with this administration.

 

IOW, because of his skin color, he deserves special treatment.
