Trump allies on Republican National Committee want to help pay his legal bills

A growing number of Republican National Committee members believe its campaign arm should help pay mounting legal bills for former President Donald Trump, a move that could strain the party’s ability to financially support other candidates in the 2024 election.

RNC Committeeman Solomon Yue, who is from Oregon, told CNBC he believes “more than a majority” of members are in favor of helping offset the bills from Trump’s lawyers in four pending criminal cases, and at least three other civil cases.

“I support the RNC paying President Trump’s legal bills,” Yue said.

That support by Yue and others led to the defeat Tuesday of a proposed resolution by RNC committee member Henry Barbour that would have barred the group from paying those bills once Trump becomes the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, who is a billionaire.

“The resolution is dead,” Barbour told Reuters.

You could see this coming when Trump moved to have his daughter-in-law installed as committee vice chairman. Once a grifter, always a grifter.

When you are the leader of a cult, The Following does what they are told.

When the need for other people's money is this great and the ultimate point would be unitary power at the top only, there is no need for any down ballot support or "party" picking talent (again a unitary decision).

It makes sense that they would pay it. If he was not a republican running for president, it is doubtful he would be facing the charges.

Billy the bagman was hired because of his belief in the unitary power of the presidency (when a Repub is prez). But this isn't that. This is turning the financial assets of the party over to Don because.........as you wish. He's in total control.

Well, he's simply so desperate for any money, so in addition to the "for sale" signs in any foreign or local language, he'll raid any pocket. $1/2B+ is not a deal though for even local and foreign buyers with his losing record.

If Trump is being falsely charged then how is it his lawyers haven't had all charges thrown out? Just bad lawyers?

You have dozens of post claiming the supreme court is conspiring with Trump. Seems like you believe in the deep state when you dont like the outcome, and make fun of the concept when you do like the outcome.

Reminds me of my oldest son when he was a kid playing video games. If he was losing it was "this game sucks" and when he would finally win it was "this game amazing".

For many it will never end. They see him as their savior, their Orange Messiah. They don't understand the last person in the world interested in doing anything for them is Trump.

If this makes you feel better about your irrational hatred... so be it.

I never once voted for Trump, never will, but watching thr freak out Orange Man Bad group destroying our institutions to satisfy their partisan radicalism is disgusting.

I believe some of those charges involve the campaign and the election do they not? I could care less either way it's up to them but I see nothing unreasonable helping offset any candidates legal bills involving the campaign and election especially if they believe any charges are politically motivated.

Why do you find this unusual?

You mean all they have to do is say he is and all the charges will automatically be dropped? Why don't you tell that to the judges who have refused to drop the charges when his lawyers have filed for such dismissals which have been several.

Well DUH you are correct it is highly unusual for prosecutors to engage in political retributions but when they do and a candidate and their campaign are charged with something to do with that RNC campaign why would you find it unusual the party might pick up some of those legal cost as the outcome effects it too?

So you think there is a legitimate call for dismissal and with pretty much the world watching this case, the judge is going against legitimate legal cause for dismissal? That’s cute.

How about in early October when the GOP realizes an electoral disaster is impending.
Polls showing they'll lose the presidency by 12+M votes and 200 EC votes
Polls start showing TX, FL, and OH slipping into the DEM count
Polls showing several governor races slipping away
Polls showing control of several state legislatures eroding...

You think the GOP is still going to be happy footing the losers' legal bills?

If he hadn't been president he couldn't have committed the fraud against The United States that he did. It would have been better for him and all American's that he was never elected.

But now, he's been indicted for his crimes, as any other American surely would be had they committed similar crimes. It has NOTHING to do with his candidacy for President.

It would be foolish for the Supreme's to even talk to tRaitor tRump.
Except this is no game, the integrity and sanctity of our Constitution is at stake.
