Republican positining to capture conservative democrats who hated that the democratic party was opposing the war, in favor of womens rights and civil rights. And so it represented a seismic shift on the issues that you mentioned. As is well known, the positions of the parties on all these issues before 1970 is unrelated to current platform positions.

Carson is a Closet Muslim. He's just telling white people what they want to hear. When he gets elected he'll show his true colors.
