Probably not, but why would you think I might believe they would? I see it that way because it is. Who said they're not entitled to follow a lying idiot...? Everyone gets to have their say. Funny how devotion to the Orange Oaf is associated with a tolerance for his completely screwing up our response to covid. If we had a death rate per million comparable to Canada, we would have lost 200,000, not 540,000. That's a lot of dead people. If we had a death rate comparable to British Columbia, we would have lost less than 100,000. They haven't had lockdowns and their schools have been running all year. Bars and restaurants are open with limited seating indoors.
You really aren't that much better than a Trump follower except you just happen to be on the other end of the spectrum and yet you can't see it.
To be fair, I would think population density would be a huge factor. I don't think comparing per million would be accurate. Maybe compare Toronto to a similarly sized city in the US would be a better comparison. Maybe we are worse then, I dunno. I havn't checked.
I notice you have so far shown zero interest in why so many Americans have died from covid compared to Canadians and In their province of British Columbia. Why is that? Don't you care? Seems not. As for my politics... I have worked with conservatives and liberals in both the United States and Canada (born USA, naturalized Canada). Seems as though you're a Trump supporter who doesn't like having to even think about how many Americans have died needlessly because of the actions of that malignant narcissist.
Vancouver is the fourth densest city in North America. The urbanization of Canada is almost identical to the United States. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urbanization_by_country I doubt density and urbanization explain it. Why aren't Trump supporters interested in why so many Americans have died? Who in this country speaks for the dead? 543,000+ Americans have died from covid, ten died in Colorado. Something is really screwed up in this country if people get more worked up over the supermarket shooting.
Why would you say they are not interested? You don't think they lost loved ones? What they are probably annoyed at is politicians trying to score points off the bodies of the dead. Both sides flip flopped constantly about how to handle it. Trump wanted to shut down international travel and the dems called him racist. Then the situation flip flopped, making Trump in the wrong. Now its flip flopped again with people infected with covid pouring through the border being dropped off to random towns. Politicians don't care about the body count. They care how they can profit from the body count. Dems are turds as much as Trump and his cronies are. Pretending otherwise is ignoring reality.
I just received my first vaccination shot and will get my second dose April 15. I am also encouraging folks to get theirs as well. So what were you saying about my zero interest regarding Covid-19?
How much interest have you seen on this forum from a Trump supporter? All I've seen is a lot of BS defending that guy. Ah, I see--they've already decided Trump has, as he always says, "done nothing wrong." How did they arrive at their conclusion? Are there any Trump supporters around here who care about this...? Whataboutism Alert! It's okay to defend and support Trump because Democrats are bad, too. How many Americans would have to die before we decide to look at what happened?
So, you do care about why so many Americans have died from covid? Are you prepared to take a hard look at the reasons the death rate per 100,000 is 166.23 in this country, 61.29 in Canada, and 27.91 in British Columbia? You seem inclined to give Trump his supporters a "pass." Why is that?
And you think "more than enough was done" because...? My take is you don't want us to have a commission take a serious look at the answer. Who speaks for the 540,000+ covid dead? If we had done as well as British Columbia (no lockdowns, schools open since last September), we would have lost fewer than 100,000 people. And we're going bonkers over ten gun deaths...
Investigate all you want. I think it is a waste of time, but have at it. So you wanted Trump to have no lockdowns and have schools open since September? You don't think he would have been attacked for that? I can't stand Trump, but the truth is no matter WHAT he did, some number of people would have died, and no matter what that number was, his political opposition would have pointed at the body count and screamed "Look at the people Trump murdered!!!". It's absurd.
That's not true at all. Trump had the election handed to him. If he had acted honestly and responsibly, he would have been reelected. I expected him to do just that. He blew it, but if he hadn't, no one would be faulting him for a failed response.
Can you image Hunter Biden right now? Also, how does Kamala Harris still have a job? She straight up admitted to smoking weed.
You're pretty presumptuous. I believe in taking personal responsibility for ones actions. 20 years in the military taught me that. America has always been based on individualism and not group think. This belief can be a good thing or not depending on the situation. Wearing a mask, social distancing and getting vaccinated is the responsible thing to do but I also understand why some folks see this as big government trying to control the masses. Trump supporters are leery of big government wielding too much power.
What does this have to do with finding out what may have gone wrong? Nothing I can see. My father-in-law was a Col. USAF test pilot, and two uncles in the military, one a Col. USAF, the other a Maj. Gen. USA, so I'm familiar with taking responsibility for your actions. British Columbia has only recently required masks indoors. No lockdowns. Bars? Open. Restaurants? Open. Stores? Open, Schools? Open. Elementary kids who can't stay home alone go all day. High school kids are half-time. Since last September. Now, wouldn't you like to know how they did it in BC? Could we and should we have done as well? If we had BC's death rate from covid, we would have lost fewer than 100,000. I know a lot about BC because I'm in BC right now and have been for more than a year--the longest I've been out of the country, ever. We can learn from others. Consider the Brits contributed their RR Merlin engine to the P-51. Do we want to save our economy? We need to beat down the virus. How about making quality PPE available to everyone? A P100 respirator worn where you can't socially distance indoors greatly reduces the chance you'll get covid. We should make sure we can rush into a community with an outbreak, handout PPE and show people how to use it. Enough people will wear them, no pressure, that we should be able cut transmission. Maybe we can keep ahead of variants and won't need the PPE. We finished WW2 with dozens of fleet aircraft carriers. We probably didn't them, either, but we weren't messing around. Some people think we should just accept some people will die and continue on, but that won't work because a significant number of people will withdraw from the economy and we'll have a serious, continuing downturn.
men who have served know better about personal responsibility than the families of those men. covid has been an excuse for handouts and laziness.
So what? That doesn't mean relatives don't get the idea. Do you or din't you want answers, especially when I just told you about a place that emphasizes personal responsibility over compulsion?
So you never served in the military yet you presume to know the discipline instilled by serving in the military? My father put 30 years in the military. I enlisted in the army when my father was still in the army. Trust me, you will never truly know what the military instills in its members discipline wise unless you served. As for your thoughts on staying safe you're preaching to the choir.
So funny! Truth is stranger than fiction. Biden is such an incompetent clown, but what else to expect from a senile old white guy who has fed at the government trough for his entire life.
