The Biden administration will begin requiring private health providers to pay for at-home rapid tests for COVID-19 this weekend, officials said Monday.

The shift, set to take effect Jan. 15, comes as the omicron variant continues surging across the country and the administration tries to boost access to the hard-to-find tests.

Under the new rules, providers will have to cover eight tests per person per month, the Health and Human Services Administration said in a release.

Joe "Free Lunch" Biden destroying your health insurance one step at a time. Cause, like, I mean, who does not require a Covid test every 3 or 4 days??

Are you saying insurance should NOT cover Covid testing?

The other options is to shift the burden on the taxpayers in general, or the individual patient (who already pay the insurance premium).

What a ****ing joke... and I'm sure that lefties aren't even thinking about how much more expensive this is going to make their health insurance policies from what they already are... They just think it's "free for them"... FREE FREE FREE.....

    Ugh.

Idk what he's saying, but I'm saying that COVID testing should not be mandated... EVER... (and it is completely unnecessary for healthy individuals, and even for individuals who aren't sick enough to go see a doctor). There's no reason for all of this incessant testing, thus there is also no reason to force private insurance to cover it.

No one ever told me to take a test. Have you been forced to take one? If I needed one, I'd just go to one of the testing sites around here.

Just because it hasn't happened to you personally does not mean that it is not happening to other people in your city/state/country.

I've seen that mindset from leftists way too many times than I wish to have seen it. Not everyone thinks that way, but too many people do.

What the hell makes Biden think has Constitutional authority for this? I hope every single insurance provider tells him to go pound salt.

No, the providers should not be hung with this charge. This is stupid anyway, tests don't cure anything.

I have never met anyone in my life who pays $500 per month for a service and says its free. Stop making stuff up.

    Then who should pay?

    Taxpayers in general?

    Patients who pay insurance premiums?

Who pays now? Why this great push on tests? There is no need to test everyone on a regular basis and it's too much money regardless of who pays.

First we scare the hell out of everyone and then present testing as some magic bullet and everyone who gets the sniffles runs out for a test. We have to invent ways to waist money. Just focus time money and energy in finding treatments that work to a degree. Ease up on the "hate those guys" crap.

    Taxpayer.

What push? The recommendation is to get tested if you are high risk, or if you have symptoms. No one stands in like in the middle of winter just for the rush of getting tested.

Do you always strawman like this??

I was talking about a person receiving "free" test kits (that "insurance pays for"), not a person paying their health insurance premium.

People actually think that this sort of stuff is free, just as they think that "free college" is free.

Anyone who doesn't think costs are passed to subscribers at some point via increased premiums must think the Biden mandated testing is free. If not please explain.

Strawman fallacy. I am saying it is absurd to demand Covid testing every 3 or 4 days and saying the costs for this absurd requirement will be passed on to consumers.

Also your "other options" are a strawman fallacy. A reasonable option which you ignore is to not require testing every 3 or 4 days. How about that for an option?

If someone feels they need a Covid test every 3 or 4 days then they should pay for it out-of-pocket.

And now a couple of questions for you so as to better understand your position. Did you consider that providing "free" Covid tests every 3 or 4 days will actually clog the system to the point where people who need tests can't get them performed in a timely manner? Do you feel that people are entitled to a free Covid test every 3 or 4 days and if so why?

Sounds good to me. There's absolutely ZERO reason for a healthy person to get tested for COVID, and I'd even say that a mildly sick person has no reason to test (not unless one feels unwell enough that a doctor's visit is in order).

But I know full well why excessive testing is pushed... It is needed to keep cases up to keep the fear mongering up, just as labeling every death with COVID as a death from COVID is required in order to keep the death numbers up to keep the fear mongering up. It is all a scam. Anyone who can't see this by now... well, you know...

As I have said in the other posts, the Democrat strategy, both for the last election and the pending midterm election, was once articulated by Nathan Bedford Forest who said get em skeered and keep the skeer on em.

In musical terms what we will see is a crescendo of fear and hysteria leading up to the next election. The Biden government first creates a problem and then creates a "solution" that no one wants.

How is it a straw man when we were talking specifically about people who pay insurance premiums?

No, they pay insurance premiums, so they would not have to pay cash for services, but apparently you think they should pay both.

Who is pushing you? Your mom? The recommendation is for people with symptoms and those in high risk to get tested.

    Very well said.

I'll expand upon the word "solution" (and you obviously put it in quotes for a reason)... Government doesn't wish to allow or provide for an actual working solution (rather just the illusion of one), as that would make the problem go away, and remove the basis for their tyranny/control/power grabbing/etc...

Government needs the problem (and creates it if none actually exists) to justify the tyranny/control/power grabbing/etc... Then, it becomes a balancing act of "providing a solution" without actually solving the problem, yet continuing to keep up the facade that they are somehow actually working to legitimately solve the problem.
