    "Biden gave his speech right before Labor Day weekend and then Reuters/Ipsos polled Americans after the holiday. What they found was a solid 58% of respondents agreed with Biden that Trump and his movement are undermining democracy."

    Not only that but President Biden is poling better and better the closer we get to the mid-terms. 8)

    The more he speaks the more evident it is that the right's accusation of dementia is an obvious lie.

    Propaganda war speech worked, news at 11. It's not whether he can get the lemmings in line or not, it's whether such rhetoric is acceptable in the space of our politics.

    Criminals broke the law and are being prosecuted for breaking the law. But there are no "Maga Forces", there are no "Maga Republicans"(ironic that the NBC article complains that people are propagandized to believe the speech was bad, but at the same time, their belief in the 'threat of democracy' is apparently an organic conclusion(and not the conclusion the President had set out to reach.)

    I don't respect his war time address, even if I'm in the minority. No President should ever give a war time address towards his or her fellow citizens. Like some have said, at worst we will be free of the nightmare in 2028, but whether it's 2024 or 2028, I will no longer have to recognize him then as President.

    Biden spent the first part of his term thinking he could work with the Republicans. Considering the legislation he had worked with Republicans in the past, I am sure he believed he could. The issue is, that party doesn’t exist anymore. Now is the party of hate and divide.They don’t get on social media and talk about good things, or what’s working well, they only go on and talk about how horrible everything is how the world is terrible. Never do they lay out a plan tk ficx what the scream is broken. They are attacking anybody who’s different than them. That’s not the party of Richard Lugar, the politician I lost admire and made me realize I was a Republican. We need more Dick Lugar and less Lauren Boebert.

    Biden’s speech was 100% correct.

    I attended the speech by Lugar and a former Indiana Rep Lee Hamilton a few years back. It was enlightening to hear Dick’s thoughts. Ever a true Statesman, and an honest Republican up to his death.

    It was a good political move. Biden certainly can't run on anything he has done. Much easier to identify an enemy and rally the troops against the enemy. Republicans would do well to ignore what Biden said in that speech and concentrate on what Biden has done in office and how it has affected ordinary citizens.
    1. The greatest erasure of middle class wealth in American history occurred in the past two years and it is 100% the fault of the Democrats.
    2. The greatest increase in the violent crime rate in American history occurred in the past two years and it is 100% the fault of the Democrats.
    3. The greatest wave of illegal immigration in American history occurred in the past two years and it is 100% the fault of Biden.
    4. The greatest infringement on human rights in my lifetime occurred in the past two years and it is 100% the fault of Biden.

    The Republicans need to pound these four issues and the issue of progressives trying to trans the kids. Do that and the Democrats will be crushed in the midterms. Results this horrific are unprecedented in American history and cannot be erased.

    Ads like the one in video below are a good start.

    Even Ty Cobb is now saying that Trump should be prosecuted and should, certainly, be barred from running for future office. Some may not believe the news, but its hard to discount opinion from a man who worked side by side with Trump through the Russia scandal.

    Nothing whatsoever was the greatest anything. Your hyperbole is noted. Of course if you want to back up with data I would be happy to discuss. But first Biden hasn’t been in office 2 years so you’re not going to like the 2020 data when the prez was a citizen.
