Black and Hispanic victims account for majority of COVID-19 deaths in NYC: De Blasio

Question is why. The blame America first crowd claims it's because blacks and Hispanics receive inferior healthcare but I think it's more likely culture related. This group hasn't got on board the fitness wagon and tends to eat wrong, smoke, drink to excess and the only exercise they get is running from cops. LOL
Really though this is also the macho group that is probably too cool to social distance and also gets shot while resisting arrest instead of doing what cops tell them to do. They bring this on themselves and now the left wants to blame America for them getting Corona at a disproportionate level.


"According to the mayor and Health Department, based on preliminary data, Hispanic and African American New Yorkers account for up to 62% of COVID-19 deaths in the city, when looking at fatal cases in which the patient's background was documented.

Considering these groups make up about 51% of the city's total population put together, de Blasio said these numbers show a "blatant inequality, and we don't accept it."

De Blasio said the disproportionate amount of death and suffering that COVID-19 is causing particular economic and ethnic groups in the city aligns with "profound health care disparities that we have seen for years and decades in this city."

On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leader of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, said that the nature of COVID-19 and how it impacts those with pre-existing conditions is a reason why the virus is particularly more deadly for those in the African American community. Fauci said that diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and asthma are disproportionately affecting the minority population, especially African Americans.

 

Don't accept it Mr. Mayor. Continue to exist with your mind free of unpleasant facts.

Is this a statistical anomaly, or is there a genetic component?

 

So De Blassio is calling himself a racist or merely incompetent because minorities are getting infected while he has got TOTAL control of what happens inside that sewer of a city? Or is he advocating a capture, infect, and then release into the wild of NYC in regards to Whites so as to even things up? Perhaps he is going to tell infected Whites that they have to go to the back of the line for treatment. What will this leftist . . . do? Er . . . aside from blame Trump for his self-made problems, that is.

 

These groups need more money that is going to solve their poor eating habits.... And if that does not work call it racist again and send more money.

We subsidize unhealthy food and sweetened beverages to make them cheap, and then complain that people on low income are most susceptible to illness.

 

I thought NYC banned sweetened beverages larger than 16 oz. years ago? Didn't that fix the issue?

Huh? EBT is accepted in the fresh produce department at your local grocer just the same as it’s accepted at your local saturated fat induced unhealthy fast food restaurant. The only difference is you can’t be lazy and actually have to cook. Have you ever been behind a typical EBT dependent family in the checkout line at the grocery store? True. 10% of Food stamp/SNAP/EBT is spent on sweetened beverages. Banning the use of welfare for these items was proposed, but PepsiCo lobbied against it. When you think about it, its a triple subsidy when you consider the pharm products they will soon become dependent on.

If a cop tells you to put your hands down and you don’t and you get shot was it your race or your decision that led to the outcome?

If cops tell you to stop don’t run and you run, race or decision?

If doctors and society say use protection. Don’t get pregnant when you’re poor and single, yet certain Demographics refuse to listen to sound advice compared to others, is it simply your melatonin or your decisions?

If staying in school almost guarantees a better life but certain Demographics drop out of school at higher rates than others, is it race or behavior?
