On November 17th Italians established the Black Cats’ Protection Day. It is a fact of common knowledge that this species of cats is acknowledged a mysterious one. Black cats were right hands of witches and warlocks, insomuch as obligatory participants of black magic rites. In sober fact, that is told about black cats’ relatedness to evil. Therefore, it is obvious that many people are superstitious concerning these little animals and bad luck they bring. However, this day in Italy is about struggle with decline of black cat’s population. It was launched in 2007 and since this date many animal rights protestors make known this problem to public.

I have always hated the fact that people are superstitious about black cats. Regardless of any role they may have played in Occult activities, that does not mean that black cats are evil simply because of their color. They are just black cats. Their genetics worked out in such a way that they have black fur, that's all. I hate that some people seem to dislike black cats simply because of the color of their fur. Its almost like someone hating another person because of the color of their skin.

Yes, unfortunately ignorance does play a big role in superstitions like this.

That is funny, given they have stray cats everywhere...Rome has an alley called Cat Alley given that 100's of cats reside there. Oh they also have Stray Dogs.
